I got a reply from Christoph Koch regarding my inquiry today on Solo's compliance status and he pretty much said that "we're happy to say that we will have an answer for you in a couple of days". That was one quick reply! Can't wait for the big announcement.

3wheelin, thanks for posting. Compliance will be another good news production ready milestone for reservationist's. Both Jerry Kroll and Chris usually respond within a few hours, even on weekends. A good sign of future award winning customer service.

... or a small customer base. You really can't compare the questions from 100 or so reservationists to the 65,000 Elio has. But, you are right though. If they maintain that level of responsiveness, it will make for a great car company!

I believe the 1000 Solo Signature Series simple refundable reservations are close to sold out over the Solo's short 1 1/2 years of R & D...............or will sell out soon with the February 2017 opening of the first Solo Store. Interest and Sales should jumpstart after they hit the streets, providing there is proven market acceptance of a three wheeler commuter vehicle.

1000 x $15,500 = $15,500,000 in sales. Excellent source of sales revenue generated by on-line reservations and hand built by the Intermeccanica Custom Coach Building Electra Meccanica Partner.

Providing there is proven market acceptance of a limited range electric single seat vehicle. This doesn't have much to do with acceptance of a three wheel vehicle as it is VERY limited in appeal and scope. I wish them all the best though.

It looks really roomy inside just basing on how this guy sits. Legs bent just a bit and the door opening is wide. I just hope there's an armrest built in on both sides then I'm all set.
:D
If you add 2 forward inches to the belly, it will be a real challenge to get the legs up and out. You might have to roll out on the ground and pull yourself up on the door as I did before I finally gave up and sold my Del Sol.:D

The latest number in the Solo count that I've heard of is Solo #550 reserved by booboo.
In Monday night's live chat, I'm pretty sure Jerry Kroll said EMV will make about $2500 per unit.
I don't think he mentioned whether that was USD or Canadian $. And we forgot to ask for clarification.
$2500 x 1000 is $2.5M in profit. Dream money to us, but a drop in the bucket in this overall game backdrop.
I still maintain that the alpha 1000 will not make or break any of this by any means. IMO it's a just stepping stone.
Almost like a diversion. IMO, the real game changer will be the overseas partners producing Solos in large numbers.

The initial limited edition production serves many different purposes, theirs and ours.

It gets a thousand production Solos out on the road in real time driven by paying customers. Much like EM's 100.
It's the heart and impetus of the North American publicity train that's gaining "momentum" in the open market.
EMV listens to our wants, needs and opinions. Market feedback has influenced developmental changes.

But the bottom line is, man these guys are making some noise.

Test drives are scheduled for Monday, 03-13-17 from 10am to 12pm Pacific time @ Mission Raceway, Mission BC.

And on top of everything else, they're going to unveil the first black Solo tomorrow night in Richmond, BC.
