Sounds like there’s another strategic alliance on the horizon.
The 3 E-series created so far are the near-final versions.
Need to build 20 for testing, which will go to destruction. There was mention of 6 for crash tests, but I was unclear if these are 6 different cars or a sub-sample of the 20.
STO will have reporting requirements. Elio has been slow and out of compliance with the SEC on their stock disclosures. Do we think that any STO disclosures will be timely?
C’mon...what’s a few $100 million among friends, right?
My optimism meter is running a little higher today.
It's been awhile, but why would the "&" be crash tested.?? Once upon a time EM posted a 5 star crash rating, but that has long gone by the boards.
What are the standards for testing a autocycle?

I don't think they have a standard for crash testing.

Then they could BS and make one up. "We adhere to the highest 5 star autocycle safety rating".

Or even better, define the standards for autocycle crash testing and hopefully those are the standards that get adopted?

I listened. Great interview. Again, Paul confirmed funding was there and production now has a date locked down. Why are people still skeptical? I realize in the past there have been delays, but Elio would always say production is pending funding or use more vague projected dates like "second half" or "third quarter". Now he's talking just a matter of a couple weeks either way. It's happening wether the nay-sayers like it or not. Are they still going to deny elios exist when they are running all over the roads?

….. Are they still going to deny elios exist when they are running all over the roads?.....
Yup, you hit the nail right on the head, but first thing you have to get thru is the denying it's actually happening, they will shoot at it from every angle until they see it fold, then when that doesn't happen, they'll sing the praises of how they believed it would happen, they will end up great supporters in sort of a backhanded way. In other words, they can never be wrong, just carefully doubtful.

That's what Elio is going to do. Crash testing and getting actual results is a way to futureproof the Elio. Elio will have to crash test because there's no way they would ever stick in airbags and just hope that everything is OK. That might have flown 30 years ago but after the Takata debacle, not one airbag company will sell you a product unless it's tested in the vehicle and proven it's not going to kill the occupants. Also, the IIHS will get their hands on a few and test them. If it's not deemed "safe" sales will go down. So, Elio will have to live up to expectations.

According to the pending bill: H.R. 2381: Autocycle Safety Act https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/115/hr2381/text

It would appear that autocycles will be held to motorcycle standards for the narrow parts (lights and mirrors) and car standards for most of the rest.

Assuming the bill passes. The congressman who sponsored the bill is up for re-election and they only give it a 12% chance of passage.

If nothing else, Elio will be able to say they are "best in class".

Not sure about anyone else, but when I sent my deposit, I expected to be driving my Elio in June. Of 2015. Now I'll be lucky to be driving it in June of 2020.

You don't get to constantly tell people estimated dates that keep moving back by weeks, months, and years, and then expect them to believe you when you say "This time, we really, really mean it, honest". Especially when your plans now hinge on some vaporware crypto-token-currency-thingy. Paul has been stating for the past two or three years that he needs $376M to get to production. Now someone comes along and gives him $2.5M, much of which he will use to pay off debts. And we're sudenly supposed to believe there's a firm production date that won't shift by more than a few weeks. Uh huh. Yeah... Pull the left leg this time, that right leg is gettin' pretty sore.

I will believe that production dates are actually real when I see reports that tens of millions of dollars are being dumped into Elio bank accounts.

Pics or it didn't happen.
