With the 76 week timeline, this means that as of today, we are at December 6, 2021. July 19, 2020 will take us into 2022. Does anyone think there will be an announcement by then or will we have to start another countdown to 2023?

They haven't been announcing new dates for production for a while now. So I doubt they will talk about a specific date unless they get funding or something big happens. Haven't even hard we are now working with this company or that company in some time. Think last might be they ditched the motor and was going to use one from a major manufacturer.

September 27th 2018, Elio announces using OEM engine manufacturer....

PHOENIX, September 27, 2018 — Elio Motors, Inc. (OTCQB: ELIO), developer of the ultra-high-mileage, low-cost three-wheel Elio vehicle, announced that they had entered into a memorandum of understanding with a Fortune 500 OEM, to provide the engine foundation as part of a new powertrain for the Elio vehicle. Elio currently projects that the new powertrain will result in $120 million in research and development cost savings. The company is working with the engineering team at Roush to develop a new Elio prototype employing the OEM powertrain.

“Purchasing an OEM’s existing powertrain has an enormous impact on the project, it helps both expedite the timeline, and it directly reduces our capital requirement by about $120 million dollars”, said Elio Motors CEO, Paul Elio. “This powertrain will also greatly enhance the Elio’s performance by nearly doubling its horsepower while still maintaining class-leading fuel economy at an affordable ultra-low price”.

Roush will integrate the new powertrain into Elio’s prototype in order to begin preliminary testing procedures. These testing procedures will prepare the Elio for production, which will occur at the Elio Motors manufacturing facility in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Bald Guy, if you’re referring to Elio, you sure are giving Paul a whole lot of credit. I seriously doubt that anything Elio Motors is remotely entering his mind. We think about EM far more than he or Hari do.

All we really know is that he has disappeared after early 2019 after talking to the Governor of Ohio. If he is still plugging away at Elio motors is anyone guess.

That, again unannounced, ‘pop up’ looked like it had more to do with being a ‘favor’ to Stu and RACER Trust than it was meant to promote Elio Motors. Wasn’t there an abandoned auto manufacturing facility in the mix in Ohio, not dissimilar in status to the one in Shreveport LA? Regardless, again no communication, then, from Hari and/or Paul.

Correct. That had nothing to do with Elio Motors moving there. Stu needed a favor and Paul is required to do what he wants him to do. If Paul refused, the Elio website would go down and there would be an announcement that the company is out of business. Stu bent over backwards for Paul and gave him the opportunity to run with this.

Other than that, the last real communication was in September 2018 when it came to the mystery powertrain that Elio is going to use. Again, very murky press release that tells us nothing.

On a side note, that Lordstown plant is to be building the Workhorse truck that had it's debut last week. Lots of fanfare but short on detail. So let's see if they can actually build it, then sell them. The announcements are easy to do. It's the development and manufacture which is hard and consumes lots of cash. Just like what we seen with Elio Motors.

Seems to me, investment in American made vehicles is going to electric pickups and not three wheelers. There must be a reason. If I was Paul, I'd sketch up an electric pickup that's the size of a 1990 Chevy S10 and announce production in 2022. That would generate some interest as the plant made the S-10, so it's set up for that. Not everyone wants a big pickup, so make a small one.

I’m willing to wager that Stu is probably embarrassed by his association with the Elio Motors boys (and Connie).
