Hi, I started following in 2014, went all-in for $1,000, and also purchased $6,000 in stock (now worth $200).

I faded away around 2020 but jumped back in, only to find they sneaked in an Electric Vehicle as their flagship product, which gets a whopping 150 miles per charge.

I started a half-assed attempt to get my deposit refunded, as they haven't lived up to their end of the bargain. I asked for legal point of contact, they gave me the name and address of the lawyer, then grudgingly gave me his phone number. He left me a message but now has not answered 3 subsequent voice mails.

Has anyone tried to get a refund? They totally have not lived up to their end of the bargain, and now did a switcheroo to the electric vehicle.

I have no idea, but I think there has to be some pressure from the major car manufacturers that derailed this project - just like the Tucker car (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tucker_48)

I tried to login to the Elio Reservations site, but I couldn't get "Forgot Password" to work, it kept timing out.

<sigh> but glad I found this site today.

Thanks John, I never really looked. When I googled "Paul Elio" today the site came right up, on a thread "Paul Elio is a fraud".

Why don't they shut it all down? I can't imagine an EV with a range of 150 miles is a winning ticket ...

They got back to me and said the Reservations site is not working ...

Welcome to the Funny Farm™! Be sure to check out the Bex thread that many of us "lifers" are following

I think I have heard of a couple of people in the past being able to get their non-refundable deposit refunded. If I am remembering correctly, I don't recall any details. If you happen to figure out how to do it, you should post a tutorial for us!

I'll post a thread on this. I'm really getting the runaround. I talked to Elio's lawyer, who wouldn't even tell me the state of incorporation for Elio, then he hung up on me ... geez.

The FUV’s 100 mile range appears to be a winning ticket according to this owner of his recently delivered FUV commuter. Future full enclosure, quick charge, and long range options will be available. A three wheeler motorcycle classed vehicle I.C.E. or EV would be considered an “& vehicle” by most owners, a supplement to their primary vehicle, as marketed by Elio back in the day. The Electric Elio concept could be a serious market contender if Elio had the dedication and a dedicated technical team with the expertise to R&D the concept. I’d prefer to see the BEX develop as an EV. EV’s appear to be where the market is headed, based on soaring gas prices, maintenance cost, and environmental concerns by those that believe in science.

I would buy one of these, but I don't play golf.

Golf is but one of the FUV’s many fun ultility uses. There is a golf club carrier option for those that do golf and use it for their 75-80 mph drive to the golf course. I don’t golf either, but far more FUNctional than some might think on first impressions.

I don't think there is any money left to refund.. I requested a refund for my son's widow when he died in a tragic accident. They said they would refund his $1000.00 deposit and then nothing... I tried to contact them several times after they promised to give the refund, its been 2 years and still nothing. Paul most have spent it all....

From what I understand there is enough money left for Paul to continue collecting a couple hundred grand a year in salary. If he admitted the project was dead and declared bankruptcy, that money would stop. So, the "smart" thing for him to do is keep stringing us along for as long as possible or until the money runs out. An electric Elio... I'll believe it when I see it.... or better yet, I'll believe it when I drive it !
