We do have to account for the fact that plans do change over time as thing do not always go to plan. We all know that at the time EM made those statements they were also supposed to have the plant secured and a lease signed in September 2013. However thanks to a lawsuit and other outside interference that did not happen until May of this year which also caused a delay in the next round of funding. Everything is interrelated and a delay with one part of the plan can and does have an influence on other parts of the plan. This is why the current official EM position has been that the E series builds will begin this fall with one vehicle and then they hope to proceed to building more vehicles as quickly as possible after that.

The truth is that unfortunately the current official position could also change, as shown by the comments from last year, and while that is always disappointing delays do happen in a project of this scale. However we also have to realize that at times there is a big difference between what we know on this forum and what EM has communicated via official channels.

The single P5/EO Series build.........Jerome Vassallo stated was going to be used solely for production/manufacturing take off purposes.............should at the very least be underway by the end of September. The 15-20 hand built prototypes for testing and touring should follow soon after. Obviously the test vehicles are critical to determine any necessary changes to be made along the road to production.

I see Fall colors coming on in my neck of the woods and in reality the official Fall Kick off is September 22........so I anticipate some official statement regarding the P5/EO status by the end of this month. I asked the question on Elio's FB Page........waiting for a reply.

I doubt this was what he had in mind however I will assist RogWild by relating his statements to the current topic. :D

Well said G1! I'm relatively new to the forum but I have read a lot of the posts and info going back in time as well as other sources... Pulling off a venture like this is very complex (as an old boss of mine used to say " wheel within wheels, Hoss fly) situation with literally thousands of details to be dealt with.
After all my research I felt confident enough in EM's plans to go "All In" based on what they've delivered so far... If folks think EM has dropped the ball, I suggest they go take a look at some of the government contracts for equipment, and you'll see some real foul ups! By comparison, I think EM has done pretty well... As you say, the situation is dynamic, and plans will have to change to accommodate challenges as well as opportunities...We all want one of these lil' suckers, and it's very hard to be patient when we're so close... Perhaps Vis-A-Vis rumors, and unconfirmed information we should all remember some advice from Ol' Abe Lincoln...

"How many legs does a dog have if you call his tail a leg? Four, calling a tail a leg doesn't make it one."

In the mean time I plan to enjoy the ride cuz I know we're gonna get there sooner or later... IMHO...
BTW... Kudos to you and the other folks that maintain and moderate this forum... You're doing a great job!

It is true September 22, is the First day of fall. I certainly hope fall lasts longer than one day because I am definitely not ready for winter. I suggest we give EM several weeks leeway for realities sake, for lower blood pressures, and calmer minds. Just my totally biased and not at all humble opinion! :) Z

Before I retired, I was managing $300mio in annual capital spend, but never did I have to build a business model along with the physical assets, or manage regulatory changes across 50 individual States, or convince the Feds my product was an entirely new regulatory category, or raise serious funding, or fend off power players (think Big 3) because what I was doing was so industry-disrupting on such a grand scale, or build a service network, or build a factory store network, or answer emails from folks asking "where is my t-shirt", or, or, or... The Elio concept/project/dream absolutely dwarfs anything in my experience set.

When the first production Elio rolls off the line (and I have no doubt it will), it will be truly revolutionary. Those critiquing changes in "the plan" along the way can't have a full understanding of what is really being accomplished.

Time to chill.

oh my!! a little nudge from the moderator when someone brings to the fore some history which HE now finds offensive, and getting ready to dump the messenger . I see nothing wrong with reviewing past statements/threads if it helps to understand the present, even if it stirs the pot.
I can vouch for the fact this only becomes an issue when the same person comes on with the same complaints all the time. Believe me, this has happened often in the past, long before you joined the group, and the complaints have always been the same. I have had to resort to ignore, which I prefer not to do because these same people, occasionally make some interesting points. Of course you, like all of us, are entitled to your opinion. :-) Z

Z, this the 2nd most 'Profound' statement I have ever heard(read) you make. I like to hear of every ones opinion, regardless of what they say, either positive or negitave.
I will not use the ignore button for that reason. Remember the 3card/man cave posts? I punched him onced, then left him alone. I'LL Fight for the right for anyone to express their opinion, but after the fight I may turn to them and say, "I think your wrong" at that point I have expressed my opinion. Then I'll fight for my rights to do so.
