Unless this forum applies the same standards to personal attacks on Paul Elio/Elio Motors by a poster familiar to all, I will discontinue participating or even visiting this forum. So far mostly what I have seen are either pointless or brainless attacks on Paul Elio or his company or his vehicle. Mostly coming from one particular obnoxious jerk. My suggestion is that either you clean up this forum and enforce a policy against obnoxious postings or quit. This forum has been allowed to degenerate into a hate Elio organ

One reason I like this site is that it blends supporters and skeptics together and if you read, you will find most people on here are rational and respect each others opinions. If you don't like the critics, goodbye

We all choose how we respond. Those who always have negative non-productive comments soon find themselves on my blocked list. Wouldn't doubt some have put me on their blocked list as well and I can live with that
Tell me it ain't so Jim.........what did you do, reply before you had your coffee, or was it a red or green thing?

And I wish they would let us know where they are within the #4-#14... Steps. I have a funny feeling we won't see anything until a successful #13...
Do you know of any other company in this country, or for that matter, the world, that shares any information with potential customers? No. They wait until the product is done and they "unveil". That is part of what makes the Elio so very special. We are getting to watch as it and the company grow and change. Is it so difficult to celebrate the fact that we are involved at all instead of worrying about what we don't know? We will learn all these things in good time. But not necessarily in your preferred time line. By your, I mean all of us. It is a privilege to be included, not a right. We need to remember that. And as always, that is my very biased and totally not at all humble opinion. :-) Z

Yow! Tough crowd. If Elio didn't create a new engine what is the consensus of the best substitute: existing big bike motor, 3 cylinder or 4 cylinder, keeping in mind weight/mileage/power.
Actually from what I have learned on this site, there are no alternatives in quantities and at a price that will fit the Elio. Having driven a 3 cylinder and thoroughly enjoyed it in the past, I am looking forward to doing so again. And that is in my #6011 Elio. :-) Z

I think it would be pretty safe to believe that the number one guiding principal in the design and build of an Elio engine centers around gas mileage .... they have also made a point of saying the power train will be built to deliver 100 mph ... those to aren't mutually exclusive but are highly dependent on the transmission gearing .... high mileage accompanied by high speed aren't in harmony with high pulling power .... in this case I'm referring the pulling power necessary to maintain road speed going up mountain grades .... does anyone have any info on how they plan to balance the need for high mileage/speed with the the need for power necessary to get up a hill without having to pull over into the slow lane

Jim
