Seems kinda premature to work out what failure would look like until you've, um, failed. What this would all look like in case of failure would depend entirely on the stage at which this fails. The only certitude is that reservationists either get a t-shirt AND and Elio or just the t-shirt. Everything else is semi-entertaining bytes.

Nothing happened. I was just throwing out ideas, if come september, they dont have the funding, what will elio do. You cant keep delaying. I would hope that a announcement would be made in september either way. The cars are coming out, they are going public, or they were bought out.
Of ALL the possible labels that one would NOT want to acquire on this forum, would be to be known as a "troll." So it is a wise person that learns to keep some thoughts buried deep within the creature. ;)

Do you guys think we are worrying for nothing. Dont you think a company with 40k reservations would get bought out by a Polaris. They believe in 3 wheelers with the Slingshot, and this could be their ecoline. If September comes around and still not enough funding, why wouldnt a company come in, after Elio spent all the R and D already, and get this thing built with a factory already in place. Paul would still run the Elio side, but he might have a boss now. We are just too far along, for it to crash.
What is it with putting the words WE and worrying together.....if you are worried that is on you not we.

If he went public with Elio Motors I would invest 10 to 20K in Elio stocks. I feel his vehicle is going to help a lot of people. It will provide jobs here in the U. S., cut our dependence on foreign oil and also show the world that American can still lead the way into the future.
I'd triple that offer, if it ment production would get started, soon after my investment! :)

I don't think Paul Elio is in this for the money. Listening to one of his speeches on the Tube, he was ticked off that the price of gas went up, and Americans were sending all this money overseas. He is concerned about the deficit , and also wants to create American jobs. He also mentioned that some folks approached him , and told him to have it made in China.... more profitable. He was adamently against that. He comes across as a very patriotic guy, success driven. He s probably a millionare a few times over already. This car is his goal, and I believe he will not rest until its a success.
I agree.

I see Paul's idea of success as something besides $$. I also see him as a brilliant man who doesn't see himself as the smartest person in the room. That in itself is the mark of a good leader. He has assembled a team of "seasoned" professionals, and he listens to them, but is not swayed from his long term goals. Very admirable. He is the best CEO that EM could possibly have.
If he were to give up control (not gonna happen), say to one of the "big guys", (IMO) It would go thru a complete redesign (2 years minimum) and the price would be comparable to the Versa in 2 years (15K+). The hp will go up and the mpgs will go down. OR it would simply fade away.
just my 2 cents.
