I'll guess that the frame and undercarriage will be dipped in a corrosion-prevention solution that bonds to all metal areas. That's pretty much the universal system used these days, rather than old-fashioned spray coatings that can miss protecting nooks and crannies. I believe the protective solutions get either a positive or negative ion charge, while the vehicle gets an opposite charge so that every area gets fully protected.

I think the ideal would be a hot dipped galvanized frame. This can be painted over for cosmetic purposes and it protects the steel indefinitely. Couple with the plastic body panels, the car would last as long as you wanted.

The chassis on my car was powder coated. A fantastic finish, but if moisture gets under it, the steel can rot like crazy. I'd much rather have had it galvanized, especially as we take it off road.

I have searched this and don't find the answer. Will the frame be undercoated?
I know the great Goofy1 is on vacation, but I have to ask.

Division 3: Paint Division — Priming consists of the dip process of the body frame for anti-corrosion and the color side for painting the body panels utilizing an environmentally friendly “dry process.”

This sounds more like what has been discussed. Goofyone will be back mid week next week in case no one else is able to find the actual statement. Is it possible it was discussed by Paul Elio at the time of the teleconference? :-) Z

I just emailed EM about this! I have heard, from multiple sources, that there is a delay. However, I can't find anything to confirm this!?! I've been waiting for this, but the lack of notification from EM leads me to believe that it has indeed been delayed! :'(
