once they are on the road, I doubt it will take long before reports about every aspect of using an Elio in the real world will begin to surface .... I sure hope you are correct but I just can't see any trike handling in high speed, sharp turns like Corvette or Ferrari ....

I think I'm safe speculating that they won't spontaneously combust like Tesla batteries!

AriLea would probably have some good input on the subject of 2F1R trike's handling. The 'only' experience I've had with trikes was an old Honda ATV. Handling sucked! And here's a good tip if your back wheels get stuck in the mud...DON"T put your feet down and push with the throttle wide open!

That's a pretty good article, though I'm really curious how the Elio specifically will handle...
Since the prototypes are hand built using hand-me-down parts from much older vehicles, it is unlikely they did anything like this with it. I do know when the fellow who did a test drive while it was in Detroit, was asked to keep it at 45 mph or less while driving. That was the only restriction put on him. I am assuming, since I have no idea what you are talking about, that you are talking about some man thing that requires higher speeds than 45 mph. :-) Z

That's because those old Honda designs were forward trikes (one wheel in front) and the handling does suck with those...reverse trikes are a completely different machine...

After seeing a pic of the Elio as taken from above I am modifying my initial opinion of it's handling. The distance between the front wheels and the rear is much longer on the Elio as compared to a vehicle like the Spider, therefore I'm guessing that it won't corner as well as the Spider, however I still believe cornering will be stellar and it will still outhandle most cars...though my prediction that it will outcorner a Corvette or Ferrari might have been a bit lofty...
