No PB! O my! What are we to do? Maybe Elio should provide a Pep Boys Dart Board with every purchase to pass the time while waiting for Pep Boys Service.

I think some bright young future mechanic just graduating from an ASE certiified auto mechanics program should start a specialty Elio Prep and Service Center Franchise in regions where there are no Pep Boys. Could call it Prep Boys.
Thanks for the laugh. I love the idea! :-) Z

Here is a good question that someone might have answer to?? Was in Pep boys the other day, you know the supposed service center for the Elios right?? Well asked a few people there if they knew anything of the Elios and that they were supposed to be the service center of choice for Elios. guess what they didn't even know what an Elio was.

and they are supposed to be our service center and trained for service.

hoping my $1000 is not paying for Paul to sit on the beach somewhere drinking Rum & cokes!!!!

Why should a clerk or salesperson in an auto parts store, know anything about a vehicle that has not been produced yet? There isn't a vehilce to fix, or training to be supplied.Truth is, they don't need to know. Unless they have seen the P4 on tour, or talked to someone that reserved one, they wouldn't have a clue. There are no parts you can order for your Elio yet, so for an auto parts store, it doesn't exist. That doesn't mean when production nears, they won't be enlightened and trained. Most employees of large corporations never know future plans until their company puts out an announcement. By now, I would think all the rumors of Elio being a hoax or scam would be behind us.

This has been a known thing and it makes sense, until the the design is finalized, tested, and enough produced to train on, why bother low level employees with this?

well it isn't like a national security secret, and these are supposed to be out in a year? the one guy i asked went to his manager and even he didn't know what they were. I want them to be made as much as the next one and even plunked my $1000 down, so i am not one of those who call it vaporware like the plywood version of the similar design in the 70's. i just would like to know if anyone in the PEP Boys food chain knows or at what level.

Maybe you can start a poll and see if there are any Pep boys employees who are prospective buyers.

I agree.
But- I've emailed customer service twice now to see if they have plans for re-opening a PB in central NC to service the Elio. Both emails got a reply saying they would forward them to the 'proper dept' for a reply. Haven't heard back from them.
Seems like someone at PB corporate would have something to say one way or the other. No reply at all gives me the feeling that PB's customer support is lacking.

I would just think they would have an inkling is all, after all it takes more then a few weeks to train someone to work on them. I want the Elio to be produced as much as everone else here, I work hard for my money and just hate to loose it.

Another approach might be for all the Elio folks to pop into their local PBs and start asking questions. Maybe if enough sales folks and their managers get repeated questions they might ask questions of their bosses. Regional bosses ask questions of their boss and so on. Squeaky wheels.
