Customizing Our Rides

Im looking to start a active forum for those of us that want to customize our rides. Paint schemes, after market accessories and mods. anyone else interested.

I think the first thing I'll do is apply some type of graphics. Something like the Starsky and Hutch stripe or reverse S&H stripe, in black.

I think that is a good idea, in a lot of separate threads we have all stated here and there the things we would like to customize.

If mods are watching, I'd like to add my vote to adding a separate forum under "The Elio". Then separate threads could be made under that, like paint schemes, interior add ons, exterior body mods, lighting mods, etc...

Good idea, not sure about doing it now but definitely once production begins and mods actually start happening.

I really thing someone needs to put together a catalog. I remember the Beetle had a catalog that was all VW parts, add-ons, and mods. All in one place. Of course today it would be a web site. I think using this format is a good idea, but I would think something more tailored to an e-commerce site would be better. Maybe some one could create a 'drudge report' type site where it links to all the other sites that offer these customizations.
And I still think that carving out some square footage of the plant for a flea market type space that people could wonder through for customization ideas right there and get the mods before they leave the factory would be excellent.

Okuma Steve has mentioned adding several sub-forums closer to production when we have more specific information. These will include areas for various mods and also for just normal advice like routine maintenance on your vehicle as well. I have no doubt we will even hare a marketplace area of the forum where members will be able to make available various items they have created to other members and also a review area for members to post reviews of the various options and accessories Elio Owners install on their vehicles.

As we all move closer to being actual Elio Owners this board will transition away from a news and discussion forum about Elio development and into a forum not unlike many other internet forums dedicated to owning various vehicles.

We already have some great work done by Silas, AriLea, and others as well as the recent Zelio Yellow Bird model. Why not consolidate them now and let people's imagination be displayed. Bound to be some customization some of us never thought about. Helps us pass the time and appreciates the visions of others.
