My Alexa Echo already controls my thermostat...TV...audio system... washer and dryer...and coffee maker!
Just wait until someone hacks into that chip. The thermostat will go down to 60 degrees, TV switched on full blast, stereo cranked up and the coffee maker will be on all while you are not home. Then everything goes back to normal when you get home. The following month, your electric bill be 5X what it should be. I'd watch out if I were you. With GPS, Alexa just might take your house for a drive. She's a shady character and I think she is in cahoots with Siri.

Thanks for the heads up!

Your scenario could absolutely be correct...

So... that’s why I have a consultant from FireEye on retainer... certainly don’t want Alexa running rampant in my house when I'm not home!

Hell, Microsoft hasn't been able to fix mail 17.xxx since last October on Win 10.

They installed an update that insists on putting it's own psw in the app and rejecting corrections.
I just discovered it recently. I hadn't tried getting mail on my newer 'puters since 09-17.
I can still only get my email on my old Vista Home machine with mail 6.0 on it.
I've looked around the net. A lot of other people still can't get mail.
Microsoft has admitted they still don't know how to fix it..

It's kind of like the thing that laptops do when they insist on connecting "local only" with no internet.
Microsoft never gave us an update to stop that from happening either. And that started a decade ago.

It's almost like...

"We've already got more of your money than G-O-D. Ask us the real question... Do we really care at this point?"

If it had happened to a Mac app, it would have been fixed with an update the day before it happened.
