Sharks with fricken lazers?
Sorry, couldn't resist! Snow is becoming an endangered species up here this week, unseasonably warm and rain forecast for Friday - but no sharks. We have pike and muskies though, they're like sharks, able to consume a fisherman's annual income fairly easily...
300 was a brute strength truck motor, and a dang good one, this Chevy guy will argue that it may have been the only good motor FoMoCo ever built. That said, it's a whole different animal than the 200/240 passenger car sixes were.
I admit to not paying too much attention during the off season, but as I understand it, there was little to no change to the restrictor plate cars, and the new low downforce cars are for the remainder of the tracks.
I reserve the right to be wrong. Now that the season is upon us again, I'm back...
Don't forget, only Chase and Matt Kenseth (2nd) are actually starting the 500 in those positions, the rest of the field will be set by Thursday night's Duel races.
Jim, I beleive I owe ya some cheese as the top finisher from last year's picks that we all kind of fizzled out on. PM me an...
As Keith said, Hornady LeverEvolution .35 ammo seems pretty well available online. I have to stop at Fleet Farm (aka the Man's Mall up here) this week, I'll check their stock, even though I have 3 boxes which will likely last my lifetime and then some. I only take the 141 out once in a while for...
I have a Remington 141 in .35 Rem, I've never had trouble finding ammo for it up here. Maybe it's just not locally popular? There'd be quite a few mad deer hunters up here if they couldn't find .35 ammo.
NE day 2 for the season, my last 10 miles home were through drifts up to 2' deep. Fun in a 4x4 truck with no other traffic, but just keeping the road in sight was a challenge in spots. I don't envy the overnight plow drivers at all.
While Im enjoying the current prices and spending more time behind the wheel of my truck, the fact that I can go 5x further on a dollar's worth of fuel in an Elio is not lost on me.
For me low cost and American made are the big deals, along with fun to drive. When gas prices pinch the budget...
I confess. I'm a checker. Back when I was a kid, many of my beaters needed daily checks (and usually fills). In my world, a half hour a week checking fluids, tire pressures, etc. is as normal as taking out the trash or mowing the lawn.
No. I will someday though. If I had one of those cars, I'd...
I dunno how you just found this out, unless you bought the car yesterday. I check all fluids the day I buy a car and no less than monthly after that.
As mentioned, this is not a new method either. My 1947 Farmall tractor has 2 petcocks (representing max and min oil levels) on the side of the...
Bert, that sucks. When talking to ins about the Chevy, remember to use these words a lot:
Collector (legally, in WI anyhow, my 88 can wear collector plates)
Family heirloom
Classic
Etc.
Edit to add: Johnbgone, you are the definition of a good "neighbor". Kudos to you!
My mind went to the seats as well when I first heard this. If upgraded seats are a common enough option, I could see them leaving Shreveport sans seats an just having them all installed at the prep centers. It'd save a ton on return shipping as well as potential handling damage to new seats that...
Speaking just to the part I snipped, the P5 engine bay is already tight across the length of the motor with the IAV triple.
Forced induction is a better physical fit than a 4, unless they went with a v4, which is an oddity of it's own.
The transaxle is already proven behind higher hp motors...
I drive a car that will hit 300k this week. If it doesn't last (good chance) until Elio gets here, I'll just buy another cheap high miles car to get by.
My cost per mile is still way less, even with more maintenance cost, than buying a 30K mile lease return, or even a 100,000 mile late model...
That'd be a bad idea IMO. It'd automatically alienate a certain % of the customer base - think "I'm not gonna buy anything that kook (insert whatever candidate name here) supports!"
Kickers seem prone to slumps, Walsh has been in one this year. He's proven to be a solid kicker in the past. Whether MN chooses to stick with him is anyone's guess however.
Keep in mind GB's kicker Mason Crosby went thru a stretch 2 years ago where he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from...
Found this on FB, sad but true.

Da Packers move on to AZ next Sat night. They'll need to play for 4 quarters the way they did for 3 today to win, I think.
