So we'd be back to square one for those of us that bought it during crowdfunding - we had stock but couldn't do anything with it. Makes it worthless to me then and most likely many others.
But why? Regardless of what the market value says come September (or sooner - my brokerage is putting this in effect next month) the stock is basically worthless - you won't be able to buy or sell it. I just want them to declare bankruptcy already so I can claim the loss on my taxes. My $100...
We all have and I was just trying to be informative as not everyone is aware of what's happening in September. This SEC info was actually posted in this thread back in May but I only became aware when my brokerage advised me.
Pretty much, I'm chalking this up as "the 3 wheel con," which dates back to the "The Dale." Now we can add the Elio and I guess Sondors 3 wheeler too.
Why they haven't filed for bankruptcy yet is beyond me, but it's keeping all of us from writing off the stock.
I guess Paul just wants to...
Have you seen Rome lately? Its in ruins, just like Elio. Sometimes, you have to know when to put the horse down. I have no idea why they haven't filed for bankruptcy already so we could at least get some of our investment money back (tax write-off). Thanks to SEC changes we won't be able to...
My brokerage sent notification that makes it look like Elio stock is done for, at least from a buying perspective. They reference new SEC amendments going into effect 9/28/2021. They're basically saying the only thing I'll be able to do is liquidate Elio, and I might even have trouble doing...
You might want to brush up on history a little bit, with that way of thinking we wouldn't have:
Nokia - started out as a company that made paper
3M - planned to sell the mineral corundum, an important ingredient in building grinding wheels
Wrigley - started with soap and baking powder
DuPont -...
SONDERS doesn't have squat? He's got entire electric bicycle company making a number of different model electric bikes for half the price of the general market, and now branching out into Europe and Australia.
Now, if you really want to talk about who's got squat I know this guy Paul...
Storm's an eclectic guy er I mean electric guy, I don't foresee a gas powered anything in his products futures, but thats not necessarily a bad thing. In any event, Elio helped pave the way for other autocycles with their lobbying for no helmets and no motorcycles licenses being required, so it...
...you can deduct worthless securities up to $3,000.00 a year.
If you invested and lost more than $3,000.00, the excess carries over to next year.
It's why I cancelled the sell order on my stock - I only invested $3k to begin with.
Hope that brightens your day.
Wow, well as I said, I didn't see anything in the news about it, as in there is no thread about this story. I also apologized ("my bad") but in all honesty a new topic should have its own thread/heading, in my opinion.
I can see the stock taking a dive isn't the only thing going downhill...
You know, its not like I want to post bad news, but at least its news:
https://www.businessreport.com/article/elio-motors-fined-500k
"The Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission has accused Elio Motors of breaking state law and fined the startup $545,000 for operating as a manufacturer/dealer of...
