Great idea! There are a number of makers of car-tents that are custom fitted to a number of SUV's that range from the small to a big tent that could sleep four or five:

That would be nice for camping, or just a day at the beach. The only problems involve where to carry the tent when folded, and once encamped, how to make a run to the icehouse without striking the tent.
Of course camping out of your Elio might require you to add storage space. My solution is to use the existing back seat for gear and strap on additional passenger space.
