The reason the Elgin are of great interest to me because I saw it as a money making opportunity.
There are 4 other items I will also produce.
Being retired and on a fixed income, I have to look for every chance I can find to improve my household situation.

What's your excuse on the transmission?

This is one that I will let you have because you do not know my home situation.
We will agree to disagree.

Have you given any consideration to rear hatch louvres? I believe they would be super cool in the absence of a rear window. I do have the mold making capability but must have something to model on. The black would complement in color especially if the spoiler were black

I like the idea of rear hatch louvers to give the appearance of a rear window, but underneath have red LED strips that act as additional tail lighting and brake lighting. Greater visibility and I think the effect would look neat.

They are cool; but not really anything I would do. #1 it really serves no function other than looks. But I'm not tooled for doing anything like that.

Wouldn't louvers add a bunch of unnecessary drag? Yes they look nice, but the aerodynamics hit they would cause doesn't make sense to me.
I don't know if I would say a "bunch" of drag, but it would disturb wind flow, at higher speeds it might flow over it, or it could cause like eddy's in the "steps" but you're talking speeds over what normal driving is.
The only way you would really know is a wind tunnel test, or maybe a computer flow dynamic program.
For the speeds we do in normal driving, I doubt it would really make any difference.
Even a rear spoiler doesn't come into play until you're doing over 90

What are "normal" driving speeds?
That tends to vary from state to state.
Or even sections of some states.

Average freeway driving speeds are considered to be 60mph.
That's average, not the different highs in each state.

The topic we were discussing was just for General Information discussion, no real specifics. Just a "What If" kind of thing.
