The problem is that that is not considered average any more.
A quick look at this may help update your information.

Fine, like I said, we were just doing a "What If scenario" nothing was by fact.
If you happened to have a flow program you'd like to run the Elio body through with louvers, then you have the information you need.

Why was it important? I am really asking, not being a smart**s about it.

Sorry! It's only important to the extent that it's one of my pet peeves.
It appears to me that many people refer to average this or average that without defining the boundarys that they used to establish what they consider average.
It tends to make misunderstanding very easy. In this case, I'm used to driving at between 70 and 80 when I'm outside of town (legally)(two lane or interstate).

Yes. We are from KY and that is part of why we LOVE TX.

For what we were discussing, something like that wasn't really a key to it.

Oh, taken from that article you posted; it says "urban low of 35 mph (56 km/h) to a rural high of 85 mph"
Let's see 35+85/2=60 how about that. :becky: <Satire intended I just haven't figured out how to write the voice inflection in so it reads as it was said (aka joking around)>

When was the last time you drove below the speed limit? I suspect less than half of people even imagine driving less unless in heavy traffic or horrible weather.

As I recall, it was in '67. I was driving a '66 olive drab Chevelle station wagon that said Long Lines on the side. I was on my way to a TD2 tower.

From driving from North Dakota to New Mexico twice and then from New Mexico to Nebraska, I can tell you that if I take the number of miles driven and divide by the number of hours I drove, I come up with just under 60MPH. (some of that time was spent stopped... fueling, traffic, etc). Google maps says I can do the trip averaging 68MPH and that may be true for the driving parts - stops.

Either way, I'd bet many of us end up averaging a lot slower than we realize.
