Facts? Raising gas prices to European levels doesn't sound like something our President would say. I did a Factcheck check on your President Obama and Gas Price statement and that is not what he said.
Republican presidential candidates Romney and Gingrich repeatedly lifted several quotes out of context to allege that President Obama wanted to drive up gas prices. He said nothing about wanting to goose gas prices to European levels. Just the opposite by saving the Auto Industry and legislating the development of alternative energy vehicles by continuing to fund the DOE's ATVM Loan Program which may help bring the Elio to market. I did not fact check your other stated facts.

I am in agreement about the mandatory Government Fleet of Elio's at the Local, State, and Federal Levels with this custom wrap.

We have truth in advertising legislation, why not mandated truth in politics legislation. Politicians placing their hand on a bible and saying I swear, to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth during their campaigns and again when they are sworn into any public office.

I wasn't enraged. You misquoted the President of the United States. I actually support and understand the logic and need for a raise in gas taxes so we can get our roads and highway infrastructure in shape and ready for our Elio's.

Did you fact check the strike for the 100% increase you mention? If uncertain why cast the negative shadow on the union? A 100% increase seems on the high side. The misinformation spreads like wildfire. You apparently judge me as some kind of angry environmentalist? Not in the slightest. If you can afford it and like it drive whatever rings your bell. I like and see the need for vehicles like the Chevy Suburban. Perhaps the EPA would drive a Hybrid Surburban. I think the ATVM loan program for funding the development of alternative energy vehicles is smart policy by our President. It reduces our import needs and leaves more USA oil for the guzzlers.

My only gentle point and recommendation is to relax and check the facts by a non-politcal source before you state your facts. I've been known to be wrong too. Sorry if I cause you any anxiety.

On the 100% ..... I searched all over and couldn't even find out how long a contract they were asking for. All I could find was 6% per year, and that they were upset because they put 36 items on the table and the company only wanted to talk about 10 of them.
Looking at the 6% a year, comes out to 33.8% over five years or 19.1% over 3 years and the union apparently doesn't want to consider that the cost of oil has dropped from $100/bbl to about $40/bbl.

Thanks. That seems more realistic. I appreciate your posts and believe it or not would rather not discuss politics or religion unless in the context of how it impacts getting the Elio to production. There is local Shreveport government funding and support for Elio Motors to date and I'm hoping for one more big shot with the ATVM loan approval. Go Elio.

I like the idea of a low horse power car that will be fun to drive. Kind of reminds me of my old '57 AH 100-6 and my mothers '60 Hillman Minx back in the early 60s. You're right about the $1.00/gal. The area I'm in is all 35/40MPH till I hit the highway and any where from 60 to 80 until hit town. Pretty obvious that with those speed limits I'll never see 84 MPG.
As far as legal research, I was the president of an HOA while it was involved in a lawsuit for 3-1/2 years. Learned how to do a lot of legal research. Two of the law firms I worked with offered me jobs as legal research assistant after the case was over. I thanked them both and declined.

It looked like a small station wagon, I remember a beautiful smooth lines (it as the Sunbeam, had a crank in the "boot" to be inserted through a hole in the (chrome) front bumper to hand start in the event of dead battery )

Yes, the styling of the Hillman and Studebaker even in the '50's seemed ahead of the times. I guess they were pre-muscle car era. I liked those too and still do!
