I made it to the mall just after 8 PM tonight and managed to luck into a time when no one was waiting to climb in again.
David (rdoearth) took these pictures of me after surprising me with a text message that he came up from Atlanta a day early just as I had walked into my hotel room.

I was very lucky tonight and the line was short or none existent a few times in the last hour the mall was open so I was able to hop in quickly however my advice is to get there early or be prepared to wait as today the wait was up to 90 minutes and Friday is usually their slowest day. Pam V. told David and I that the electric seat they were given just prior to SEMA, to replace the broken manual seat, has really slowed down their throughput as it takes much longer to adjust the seat for each person.

good to know, we should be pulling out within the next 15 minutes .... glad you made the trip with no issues .... if all goes well, we should be at the mall between 8:30 and 9:00

I ended up going to bed much later than intended and will not make it to the mall this morning until after 10. After the mall closed David and I found some fast food and adult beverages and took them back to my place where we enjoyed the meal and conversation and lost track of time so before we realized it was just about midnight.

I was hoping to see a few people from this web blog but when I got there I realized that there's no way to identify people in the crowd unless we came with name tags with our user name handle. I looked for Georgia Poodle thinking she might be carrying a motorcycle helmet but saw no one meeting that description. I asked about Goofy (Hector) but there were no sightings as of mid-day Friday.
