Silly Goose! :p
Yup! I'm anxious about the number I'm not getting but others are so I have to do something silly to help me relax. Besides, I am on Goofyone withdrawal and he has only been gone 3 days. We have 7 more days to go. I'm not sure how I am going to handle this. It is a serious deprivation. LOL :) Z

Cigarette lighter can be the difference between living and dying in a cold climate. If you have your emergency winter road kit ( should include: water, large candle for heat, matches or lighter, blanket or sleeping bag, non perishable food, flares, shovel, extra hats, socks, gloves and something to read while waiting to be rescued ) and find your matches are bad or lighter won't work, you can still light your candle with a car cigarette lighter.
I forgot the tow rope or chain and jumper cables.

You sure like to travel light, Norahsbed!
I remember being a kid in the upper Midwest tearing off into the sub-zero winter night with nothing in the old Volkswagen but the coat I was wearing... It's amazing we survived.
Learned my lesson in a Minnesota winter storm that blew me off the road. I spent the night in a ditch, in my car with only my jacket. I was less than 1 mile from home but never would have made it, if I tried to walk. I had just filled up the gas tank, so I stayed warm, I did have to get out several times to clear snow away from the exhaust pipe. After that night I never went any where without my emergency winter road kit! You can only cheat fate so many times!

Add-on cigarette lighter sockets are pretty inexpensive and fairly simple to install - even places like in the engine compartment (or possibly the trunk)...
but then I'm a mechanic and a wireman, so such a project is not any big deal to me.

You or some helper can DO this.

Right on the money. I added a fused one in the trunk of my Miata over the spare tire. If my phone is low on charge, I can leave the phone locked up securely in the trunk whike it sips from the battery. Works great for the little battery powered drink cooler, too.
