I came upon a dead coyote sprawled across the center of my lane the other day. No way to go around it, so I straddled it. The whole time thinking "Next year, that's gonna hurt!" Also, two nights ago, driving on a pitch black road, the family and I crested a hill to find a black Angus bull staring me down in the middle of my lane! We were able to stop in time, thank God. Spent the next half hour chasing the stupid beast up and down the road to find a break in the fence.
Country living at it's best!
OK. Not cup holder related, but I had to share somewhere.
The wife and I straddled a skunk on the way to work the other day, he ran off afterward, bet the rear tire on the Elio would have got him
Two weeks ago, we came around a corner on our commute and there was a LARGE bull elk, broad side, taking up our entire lane, thank God no on coming cars, I braked and swerved into the other lane and the wife went right under his head. If he would have jumped forward, we'd have collided, when I looked in the rear view mirror he was still standing there, like nothing happened

Years ago - long before convenience stores, every gas station used to sell those plastic cup holders to hang on the door. I remember when they first came out with one that had a slot to accommodate the handle of your coffee mug thinking that was great. I need coffee during my morning commute as I've got a daily 100 mile round trip. The molded in cup holder I saw on the P4 last weekend seemed rather small so I may be hanging my coffee from the door again.

I'm going to install a replicator in my Elio..."Coffee, Jamaica Blue Mountain, black, hot" ...served in one of my three Elio cup holders...

For real, my little Ford truck has cup holders with a sliding ring for taller drinks, that can be removed to make room for a coffee cup. Really convenient.
Maybe we should all mail the development team the dimensions of our favorite traveling cup, and an average could be derived......
Yeah, what an explosion of car gadgets happened when plastic really got going. Everything from sand-weighted console trash canisters to sun visor extenders to cup holders. I remember how cool it was having cup holders, even if they fell out every time you rolled the window up and down a bit...or hit a bump with a big iced down Coke aboard.
