Thanks for the !great! pictures. I never seen this much detail for that particular vehicle. What is the status of that maker, do they have limited production, will they produce more in the future? This person did do a book on his projects/business I believe.

I think your Exo is perfect how it is right now. But I also think there are ways you can do a more aerodynamic enclosure, yet still keep an open air configuration. Here's one of my study models for the Scooter drive. It's kind of inspired by the California Commuter Car from the 70's. As far as mpg improvments, a craig vetter streamliner took a 75mpg bike up to 250mpg, so there must be some oppurtunity for the Exo. Although, I'ld be perfectly happy to tootle around in it at 60mpg!

Thanks AriLea

Yes it can always be more streamlined but that was not my goal. Like an Arial Atom I wanted a totally open exoskeleton vehicle with some wind protection for myself that this does perfectly.

I will use it on those perfect days that this was made for. For a totally streamlined vehicle I would get a MonoTracer MTE-150 from Switzerland as that is the most refined vehicle to date but I did not have 80-100K burning a hole in my pocket so this will fit the bill for my retirement vehicle.

I am sure there still will be changes made on the Elio before production so we will see what the final form will be when finally completed. We are a little over a year to see what will transpire but by then I will have a year of driving pleasure so I feel pretty good about that.

The trike passed inspection today.

It took almost two hours as he thought it might fall under a class 2 motorcycle. I had the documentation when I started the build to prove it was a class 1 and when I told him that he let it pass as a class 1 motorcycle.

He had me start it up and checked all the lights, turn signals, horn and indicators on the instrument gages.

Then I went forward about two inches and he asked me to shut it off.

That was it! He went to his vehicle and printed out and signed the inspection certificate.
I had a express mail envelop ready to go and he took it to the post office and mailed it for me.

I should have my plates in a couple days and be road worthy and legal.

Edward

Well she is finally all done. I finished up at noon today and am ready for some great rides this year. Thanks to all that helped me along the way. I hope you like the final result.
