The link below is to Bloomberg which is considered reliable but even they make mistakes. It lists the below information as compensation for Elio Motors CEO, Paul Elio:
  • $301.2K Salary
  • $153.8K Bonus
  • $329.2K Total short term compensation
  • $232.3K Total value of option
If all these are added up, the total is $1.0165 Million dollars.

How much was listed as the salary and total compensation for Paul Elio in the Reg A filing? I thought it was $250,000 for him and the same for Hari Iyer. I thought this was very modest and well worth the price. The head of an automotive company fully established and in production would receive multiple millions of dollars per year.

I believe the board of directors determine what compensation the CEO receives. This amount is something in between. I hope this means the board is confident of Elio Motors proceeding into production.

I hope people do not become bent out of shape over this compensation. I am not.

I don't know, but they might not all be different packages. Some could just be restating the same compensation by different methodologies.

Such as a nominal value of an option, a market value of that same option and the total possible value after it's exercise. They are all different ways of evaluating the same option.

I had thought of that but I don't think Bloomberg would do that.

The terminology would lend itself to that conclusion and Bloomberg probably figures it's readers would understand that restating by alternate methodologies they might prefer does not indicate it is additive. Not providing their own sum of these figures also indicates they might not be additive.

Paul Elio would probably get the first vehicle off the assembly line and would not need a reservation.

For public relations reasons, he should have a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit.
