In the spirit of many recent forum posts addressing standard and optional features, the mysterious yellow paint scheme, body wraps, custom exterior designs by Silas Sunday, and the sharing of customization and aftermarket plans for each of our Elio's, who has ever heard of or seen a Campagna Motors T-Rex? Better yet, a T-Rex featuring an aftermarket Aero3S body kit upgrade? There are definitely some design elements (lighting, aerodynamic lift/drag surfaces and devices, air intakes and vents, body sculpture, ground effects, etc) that I could see being very appealing to future Elio owners!

http://t-rex16s.com/ca-en/

http://www.aero3s.com/

Thinking less wishfully and more practically, Elio's existing supplier relationships could hint towards what possible aftermarket options could be made available with the fit/finish deserving of being installed on the Elio:

Precision Turbo (http://www.precisionturbo.net/) reportedly attended recent Supplier Summit's since breaking the news to PE in person at SEMA 2014 that turbocharging and/or supercharging were definite possibilities, with initial design concerns/considerations including: the already high 12.x:1 compression ratio of IAV's power-plant, the possible re-configuration of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) architecture and associated cooling components and plumbing, the potential need for re-routed exhaust system components from headers on down in an already confined engine bay cavity, and where to position a charge air cooler (front-mount vs. top-mount?). PE leaked to The Motley Fool in August 2015 that IAV engineers were then pursuing turbo options on the Elio engine, not yet authorized or sanctioned by either IAV or Elio Motors (http://www.fool.com/investing/gener...car-how-elio-motors-plans-to-disrupt-the.aspx).

Addressing the demand for a charge air intercooler in a turbo/super-charged option, T-RAD North America (http://tradna.com/) is already supplying Elio with cooling products and features EGR and charge air intercooler designs of their own.

As for many exterior add-ons such as the front lip spoiler and rear deck-lid spoiler already made available on the Elio Configurator, and others, you can start with A.E.G. (Auto Essentials Group) and the D.E.S. Group, both of which are featured on Elio's Supplier list online.

I couldn't find anything that keyed in on what Auto Essentials could bring to the table, aside from the official press release announcing them as a partner (http://www.prweb.com/releases/2014/11/prweb12308255.htm) which highlights:

"The options from Auto Essentials will include items such as chrome trim, lower rocker extensions, rear deck lid spoilers and front chin spoilers. The company also will collaborate with Elio to develop Special Edition packages that will include custom badges, unique graphics, custom body kits, custom wheels and high performance exhaust."

Additionally, the LinkedIn profile of Auto Essentials' CEO Dennis Noonchester reveals:

"Our product portfolio: Chin spoilers, deck lid spoilers, body extensions, chrome trim, gauge clusters, wheels, graphics, emblems, steering wheels and grilles to name a few."

I say again - GAUGE CLUSTERS - this company just might provide a high-quality replacement to the Elgin dash...

As for D.E.S. Group, of which I also could not narrow down to a singular profile or online presence, their role, according to the Elio website, includes:

"DES Group will be providing interior trim development, exterior component, prototype and production tooling and parts for the front fascia, front grille, front tire covers, rear tire covers, rear license plate close out panel, I/P and side wall trim, trunk trim interior as well as additional optional equipment Items for interior and exterior products."

One of D.E.S. Group's subsidiaries is Core-Tech, Inc. (http://www.core-techinc.com/) - Check out their involvement in the final design of the production Tanom Motors Invader trike (http://www.core-techinc.com/CTP_Final_Products.aspx) (http://www.tanommotors.com/), plus they claim to specialize in: "Chin Spoiler, Rocker Panels RH/LH, Rear Fascia Lower, Front Grille, Front Hood Scoops, Rear spoiler, Quarter window vents, Rear diffuser, Shark Fin", etc.

Has anyone else begun researching and investigating which individual companies could supply their most desired and sought after custom-fit accessories to customize their Elio?

One of my most simple wishes is for a company like Weather-Tech to design custom-fit floor mats and trunk cargo liners, especially given that floor carpeting does not appear to be included without additional charge.

Not sure what your over all plan is suggesting ?
To bypass EM and deal directly with the various companies?
I'm sure Weather-tech will eventually jump in, but there will be no savings to be gained by passing on the carpet (they did have to pay for a Super Bowl spot).!, perhaps needing only half the materials, it will be cheaper??

Definitely done some homework there, Raptor213!

Heck yes, on the T-Rex. I've been drooling over those babies for some years now, but have only seen two in person.

As for WeatherTech floor mats. I'd say by year two, three at the most they'll be making the entire three piece set!

I'm not exactly suggesting that when Purchase Agreements are signed and delivery arrangements are made at the opportune time in 2017-2018 for most reservationists, that everyone buy barebones stock Elio's and opt to customize through individual suppliers on their own. That's likely not even a possibility, given that most product manufacturers do not possess the rights or abilities to act as their own supplier, dealer, wholesaler, retailer, installer, servicer, etc. It may very well turn out that we all openly and transparently know who is providing Elio Motors with certain components, but that Elio Motors is the only possible channel of acquiring those items, whether installed by a marshaling center or new-in-box and in need of third-party install.

But I do question how much sway or pull or clout we all have, individually or collectively. Consider the perspective of Precision Turbo - their representatives might be hypothesizing what market share of existing Elio reservation holders is likely to purchase a turbo kit at the time of vehicle delivery. They might have internal department cut-offs along the lines of "if 50% buy, we could justify designing a custom application; if 40% buy, we might be able to swing jerry-rigging an existing product off our shelf and making it work; if less than 30% buy, we'd be below margins and should back out".

What if there were a way for an enthusiast site like ElioOwners.com or an advocacy group or perhaps the Customer Relations Team that handles all social media and online inquiries at Elio Motors to conduct a legitimate straw poll of confirmed reservation holders, and ask prepared questions that benefit the supplier network? Who has received positive feedback when contacting Elio Motors directly and providing constructive input, feedback, suggestions, or vehicle-related requests?

I, for one, would love to see LED exterior lighting technologies on the Elio; should future owners pass that request up the chain directly to Elio as one email address with a one-off request? Should a site like ours poll a few thousand members with confirmed and unique All-In reservation numbers, and report the poll results back to Elio Motors? Should the seed be planted at the grassroots level with published suppliers known to be coordinating with Elio Motors, since they'd be the ones ultimately tasked or contracted with performing the ultimate design and production work?

I'm positive there are others who have been anxious for more options to appear on the Configurator, and car covers and over-the-counter HUD's and roof racks simply aren't satisfying that hunger for knowledge of what's out there for legitimate Elio customization. In explaining the path he took away from the package model of building cars, PE often refers to his electronics supplier and blind-spot detecting mirrors, or his interior design supplier and getting heated leather seats; I can't wait to see how much of a mark-up routine options like those will cost. Then comes the superfluous add-ons like lower rocker panel extensions and a specially designed rear diffuser and the illusive all-glass roof concept that I've seen in Silas Sunday's artist renderings as well as had confirmed by members of the tour team (isn't Guardian the glass supplier?)

Same as RUCRAYZE stated; not really sure what point your trying to make.

Care to try and put it out in a shorter format; or possibly if there are multiple points; state each one in a separate entry.
As you have it stated now, it is too much information piled on to be able to pull out exactly what point your asking or stating.

Thank you for an interesting and detailed look at the possibilities. Looks like the turbo might be harder to do than we all imagined ... perhaps including Paul, who has encouraged a turbo version all along.

Do your researches suggest non-turbo ways this thing can be made more powerful, using some of the existing Elio suppliers?

Just give me the option for composite or carbon fiber body panels like the T-Rex has for Elio and I'll be all set!

I, for one, actually appreciate the detail and supporting links. Like you, I'm not sure where I see Raptor's argument going, but I do value the conscientious way he's gone about it.
