Elio Survey - Tranmissions

Just got the survey from Elio about the cost of transmissions. Basically they want to know if we will pony up $1,200 for an automatic. I don't know what you guy think but I'm beginning to feel that buying an Elio isn't going to be the good deal I had hoped for.

I wouldn't pay $1200 for an automatic in a full-size luxury car! I prefer manuals anyway. Great theft deterrent.

It's always been said that a stick shift was gong to be standard, and an automatic would be extra. Exactly how much extra has been the topic of a lot of speculation. I'd be perfectly happy with a stick myself. The wife, though, can't drive stick...

It also asked if I'd pay 1k for auto trans. I'm manual all the way, so I said no. Wonder if they are just feeling out the crowd with this survey, of if they're looking to put auto in all Elios and seeing if we're ok with the base price going up to cover it.

Oop, just got the survey. I answered my daily is an automatic, but I would buy a manual. They asked me three times if I would get the automatic, once each for $1500, $1200, and $1000 additional for the automatic. Then they asked me why I wouldn't upgrade, which is because I like manuals!

That's kind of a bonus in my book! My wife can't drive stick, I've offered to teach her but she refuses. It just means I have virtually no risk of having to share my Elio with her.

Aren't most automatic transmission 1000-1200$ options ? That's generally what I see on new cars. Elio is no different. I am shifting my own gears so automatic price doesn't matter to me .

Maybe on the car, I think it's listed/built into the price, along with wipers and tires, etc..
