When I made a post about the LA Invitation Only event, I forgot to mention Paul Elio said the stores would open 12 months after production starts. With 19,000 produced during the first 90 days and 21,500 each subsequent month, they would produce 60,000 after 5 months, and produce 80,000 after 6 months. Reservationist deliveries will probably be filled after 5 months, and certainly after 6 months.

So what is going to become of all the vehicles produced between the reservationist deliveries and the stores opening? The only thing I can think of, is fleet deliveries. Elio Motors has been trying to make fleet reservations while it has been taking individual people reservations. Many business will wait until they see thousands of vehicles delivered to the reservationist. (See. We reservationist are important. Pat yourself on the back.) Fleet sales could be very sizable, but are they that large? This is 125,000 vehicles! I sent an email to Elio Motors asking if fleet deliveries would occur after reservationist deliveries but got no reply, though I addressed it to "Fleet Sales" and perhaps they will only reply if they sense a sale. Perhaps businesses will be able to place orders during this time and get them filled during this time.

The stores are suppose to open after 12 months, but I am sure this is a very flexible date. The stores only need a large room with some vehicles on display and a few computer terminals. These can be set up quickly.

(In contrast, the marshaling centers will be large installations.)

once production begins and they begin to appear on the roads all across the country, demand will most likely take a major jump .... even though the company order centers will most probably not be open, reservations via the current process is supposed to remain open ....

I imagine there will be enough demand at first that those sales will come to them while they get the stores ready.

I know they've listed several companies that have expressed interest in fleets, but what sorts of uses do all of you see Elio fleets being really well-suited to?

I can see a company like Enterprise looking at them to lease to single or even couples looking for around town transportation .... any business that sends a single person with minimal equipment to complete a task (example computer repair, pizza delivery, auto parts delivering small parts to local garages,) .... if it fits their operation, being able to conduct business with a much cheaper to operate vehicle should be an asset in marketing an Elio

I sent two emails to Elio Motors asking if fleet deliveries would start after reservationist deliveries were finished. One was directed to "Fleet sales" and the other was directed to "Other" (the category for general questions). I did not get a response to either.

:cheer2:Has anyone noticed that Elio now has Fleet testimonials on their home page? Nice. Just click on "Fleet" at the top of the page and "SOS Alarms" is the first one. Click the arrows to move left or right through the group. :lock1:

We run an environmentally sensitive company by removing dog and goose waste from our customer’s yards and preserving our water shed. We have a unique business and this unique car fits us perfectly. We are on the cutting edge of technology and have raised the bar on quality in our industry."

don't know that I've ever seen a better reason for there to be a trailer towing option ..:high5:

Might have a special build with no back seat, and a roof rack to carry the tools; or maybe down the right on the outside.
You open the rear hatch to "deposit" (or just a flap opens at the top of the hatch) and there's a trap door on the bottom for disposal back at the office. :GB_bonesrock:
