:cheer2:Has anyone noticed that Elio now has Fleet testimonials on their home page? Nice. Just click on "Fleet" at the top of the page and "SOS Alarms" is the first one. Click the arrows to move left or right through the group. :lock1:
Thanks for this information. I never noticed this (perhaps it is new). Elio Motors never responded to my two emails asking if fleet deliveries would occur after reservationist deliveries, but I guess they will. When companies see the Elio driven by reservationist, and then see other companies buying Elios for their fleet, they too will probably be ordering Elios for their own fleet. Since the stores are scheduled to open 12 months after production starts, they must be expecting a lot of fleet sales. Too bad they won't say anything about the number of fleet sales they expect. This is interesting.

Ty: The Elio is fascinating, but I am just as fascinated by how the plant is set up and how the company is planning everything. I don't think people appreciate how complex the plant planning and company planning are.

Might have a special build with no back seat, and a roof rack to carry the tools; or maybe down the right on the outside.
You open the rear hatch to "deposit" (or just a flap opens at the top of the hatch) and there's a trap door on the bottom for disposal back at the office. :GB_bonesrock:
You just designed the first Elio dump truck! Amazing! This vehicle is even more amazing than I thought!

Maybe there can be a special compartment in the Elio and use nature to create their own biofuel.

once production begins and they bappear on the roads all across the country, demand will most likely take a major jump .... even though the company order centers will most probably not be open, reservations via the current process is supposed to remain open ....
Think VW Beetle. Took about 6 years from oddity to ubiquitous. I bet Elio does it a heck of a lot faster!

Me too. I can't wait to see how they are setting it up. You know, I'm retiring from the Air Force in November... I wonder if they are hiring Plant managers yet... I'd love to flex the old Industrial Engineering skills.

Go for it! I suspect they want people already familiar with the plant. Or, come to work at Edwards AFB. That is where I work and there are a lot of interesting planes there.

While Elio Motors is delivering vehicles to reservationist and company fleets, they have to be careful about the image the Elio may develop with young people. Many of the reservationists are older people. This may cause young people to see it as an old person's vehicle. Older people are not afraid to buy something identified with young people, but young people, who are often insecure, are terrified at the idea of buying something identified with older people.

Like wise, with the other group (companies) owning the other Elios on the road, the Elio may get the image of a work truck; something utilitarian. This may affect all people's image of the Elio.

Thus while the Elios are delivered to the reservationist and companies, it may get am image that Elio Motors does not want. Thus when the stores open up, these two unexpected and undesired impressions may have already have been developed by the public.

Elio vehicles may be given to "strategic" people who are prominent in the public eye, such as young musical performers popular with young people. I am sure marketing people have ideas on how to counter this. I hope Elio Motors has the insight to consult these marketing people before they start deliveries.

Good point... The PT Cruiser, Ford Probe... fleet cars... rental cars... They get that stigma attached to them. The Miata is a great car - arguably the best 2 seat convertible sports car on the market but all it took was one TV show to have the character say "You bought a Miata? That's a chick car." and Mazda was doomed. They still sell them and they are still popular but when they first came out, you could go to a dealer and buy one for $13,900. (I looked at them) Mazda wouldn't let the dealers charge more. They were selling used for $30k-$50k in Atlanta. Well, there were some in the used car section of the paper for that much. Point is, once public opinion turns against something, it goes away quite quickly.
