I haven't seen a Friday blog all year!
Kinda makes me nervous.
Why would this make you nervous?
Personally, I find it a good thing and hope he don't recycle old blogs anymore, and only releases something if there is something to release.
Just sent this to Elio Motors about communication:
No blogs for a month (not even old ones).
Not even a “Happy Holidays” or “New Years”.
No press releases since 2016
No news since 2018
No SEC required reports (OTC Pink)
Connie Grennen still listed as an officer.
Come on. Give us something.
I'm actually surprised you still expect anything from them after mentioning all that.
Maybe I missed it, but just found information about the new powertrain. It's interesting to me.
Imagine one of Roush's turbocharged V8s under the hood. Just kidding...
Elio Motors is making a significant step towards finally launching its long-overdue “ultra-high-mileage, low-cost three-wheel Elio vehicle.” The Phoenix-based automaker has signed a memorandum of understanding with Roush, which also owns the Roush Performance tuning division, to provide a new powertrain for the three-wheeler. Initial calculations estimate the new deal will save up to $120 million from research and development activities.
“Purchasing an OEM’s existing powertrain has an enormous impact on the project, it helps both expedite the timeline, and it directly reduces our capital requirement by about $120 million dollars,” Paul Elio, founder and CEO of the project, comments. “This powertrain will also greatly enhance the Elio’s performance by nearly doubling its horsepower while still maintaining class-leading fuel economy at an affordable ultra-low price”.
Elio Motors struggling to cope:

At this point, no technical details about the new engine are available, but Elio Motors claims the new powertrain will push the vehicles’ performance specifications “far beyond prior consumer expectations.” According to the manufacturer, the power will be doubled compared to the original Elio prototypes, which should, naturally, result in a significantly improved acceleration.
In its official press release, Elio Motors explains that Roush engineers will work to integrate the powertrain into an Elio prototype and will begin preliminary testing procedures shortly after that. Even at this very early stage of development and testing, the company claims the new powertrain will enable the vehicle to achieve the promised ultra-high fuel efficiency, despite the substantial increase in performance.
Given the hefty fine from Louisiana’s Motor Vehicles Commission last year, this new contract with Roush should be warmly welcomed. According to previous reports, the financial situation at the company is not bright, as it finished 2016 with only $120,000 cash on-hand and a $24-million deficit.
The original plan of the automaker was to start producing the Elio three-wheeler before the end of this year, but this new move is expected to delay the process.

October 2018, hmmmm. Maybe a last grasp at more smoke and mirrors: yet another MOU isn’t worth anything without funding. Still it’s been over 2 years for any news. I bet Jack Roush was rolling his eyes when he signed that.
No response - yet. Guess they have nothing to say.
You’re probably going to get ‘second guessed’ and vilified for asking too many, and rude, questions. Maybe they forget that without the respect of forthcoming information from the very people we sent money to, there is no such thing as too many, or rude, questions. While Paul and Co. aren’t volunteering information or answering questions, they also aren’t writing escrowed ‘refundable’ reservation refunds. Who will step forward to defend or make excuses for that?
I think Paul and Co, may have had ‘shills’ on the Elio oriented websites in the early days: remember that poster on here that kept saying he “had a contact within EM and [this....] will happen, but they just can’t say it...”?
It’s obviously too late for that type of subversion, but there are people that seek to protect Paul and Co. rather than try to get honest information and explanations.
I am keenly watching the Pinks when they open today, my guess is there will be a few, in the loop, trying to get anything they can out before it’s really too late. There were a few stock price ‘plateaus’ at just under $6.00 and around $13.00 where big purchases were made, maybe they can rationalize $ .75 is better than nothing: the people who came in on the roll up to $ 65.00 are totally screwed. Anyone remember the halcyon days of ‘a billion dollar valuation, bigger than GM!’ days? (btw, that blip to $75.00 was just more manipulation).
From the Elio Motors website:
"Sign up for "Elio news and information"
Elio is literally a news-making machine. And our monthly newsletter will keep you updated on everything between now and the day your Elio arrives. Safe to say you’re not going to be doing much reading for a while after that."
I would say they are failing the above statement, until I saw this at the bottom, in small print:
"Elio Motors assumes no obligation to update the information within this website."
So if Elio is not obligated to communicate or update, then they should be questioned.
