Solar is electrifying rural regions all over the planet. Nobody here remembers how US taxpayers "socialistically" paid for USA's own "rural electrification" in the '30 and '40s. US taxpayers also built 1000s hydrodamns, and 100Ks of rural "farm to market" road, AND the Interstate Highway system.

As I've posted before, if the US govt gives Elio the "socialistic" $180M from taxpayers, it's because US govt has done its homework, and "winner picking" Elio. btw, if the Repugs had their say, Elio wouldn't get a penny from taxpayers.

It's not giving EM millions, but rather approving a low interest ATVM loan which earns taxpayers some interest money while competing with billionaire venture capitalists that want a well deserved equity share when investing millions of dollars in startups like EM.
Our Republican leaders in Washington may not be able to support both the Elio ATVM Loan approval and their NADA lobby interests which certainly conflict politically speaking as related to Elio Motors.

I always thought the interstate highways were natural geological formations.
I would like to experience a 'do over' with huggable Al Gore as President, and compare how his leadership policies would have impacted our current State of Affairs. No speculation offered or wanted.
