I can foresee while driving ,looking out the front and imagining I'm in an Indy car driving down the straight on a caution lap.

We can form a Dragon's Tail Car Club. The goal of each member would be, using only, braking, cornering, acceleration and with out going over the posted 30mph speed limit, get the fastest time from start to finish on an up and back run.
Anyone can turn a car into a motorcycle, coming home from the Rome event I took some curves in my Grand Prix on two wheels at a couple spots.

I understood every word and dig what you had to say and look forward to hearing more. Never looked at the Elio as a performance machine, I mean really, 55 HP and front wheel drive just don't equate performance to this old timer, but we'll see. Again looking forward to the experience and hearing more.

I'm a huge fan of old Brit sport cars such as the little MG's, Triumphs and the likes. Mazda rolled out with Miata (MX-5) and kept the idea of a light weight and affordable fun to drive car. I believe that the little Elio unintentionally brings back the tradition of the light weight fun to drive car. I think the little Elio with it's light weight and more than lickly nimble handling will be a surprise to the grassroots motorsports scene much like the little mini did in it's early days.

While driving home the other day, I made some observations:
In the HOV lane, they have diamonds painted in the center of the lane to alert the drivers that they are in a restricted lane. I noticed that, without fail, the cars were not centered in the lane. They were all running with the left tire pretty close to the left yellow line, and the right tire was running over the painted diamond. I don't know why this was. It could be that unconsciously, the drivers are staying away from the traffic and more towards the berm of the road. It just made me wonder about being in the center of the car. If it will be easier to stay in the center of the lane when you are in the center of your car. The diamond should go right under you as you drive.
The things you think about while in traffic...

the best analogy I can think of is the difference in the position of the driver of a regular vehicle and a motorcycle .... the fellow on the bike most certainly knows exactly where the center of the bike is in relation to the lane it is being driven on .... another thought, the current generation of NASCAR Sprint Cup cars places the driver much more in the center of the vehicle .... given that those drivers are the best on the planet but they seem to know how to handle them in very tight traffic
