if this issue is critical in your consideration, you'd be well served to move on to another vehicle .... in that search don't consider most 2 door sedans or sports cars as well .... as you note, redesigning the roof isn't going to happen .... its best to accept that and move on .... it serves no useful purpose to keep trying to make an issue out of this design feature

Thought the ELIO was in the testing phase still in which oversights or omissions are being addressed.

Are they already in PRODUCTION?
Nothing can be changed?

BTW on your 2015 Camaro..
Is it possible for a child to crawl between the seats to safety if both persons in front seats are dead?

Do you have the same kinds of concerns with children on motorcycles? This is an autocycle. It doesn't fit into pretty little boxes. Maybe people just need to accept that this is NOT a car. If you wouldn't take a child on a motorcycle for these types of concerns, maybe you should look at the Elio the same way.
I'm getting a little tired of the "what if" and dramatic "for the children" stunts some people with contradictory opinions of the Elio use. The vehicle is what it is. I wouldn't buy a tank if i had a 75 mile commute.

Build it right, it's obvious you aren't going to let go of this line of thinking.
Elio Owners is not affiliated with Elio Motors, go take it up with them.

Personally, I'm tired of hearing you go on about this.
Move on to another topic, or leave.
If you choose not to, your account will be disabled.

I'm just flat out tired of your soapbox dissertation.

I'm thinking I may want to retrofit an old Martin-Baker. Better make it a zero-zero unit, too, just to be safe- it is a car on the ground, after all. Remember, 1 in 10 ejection seats manufactured has successfully saved a person's life, and- most importantly- what is 150-200 extra pounds, and a mere $80K more to ensure that you have the safest vehicle on the road?

You can't put a dollar price on peace of mind, folks.

You could not be more correct, is a child's life not worth $80,000? Think of the children!

I demand the Elio meet a 6(!) star safety rating and be offered free to the general public. It is an investment in the future.

But in no seriousness, where are you more likely to get in a car accident, in a car or in your house? In a car, right? So here is my plan, buy a huge Class A RV so our car IS our house and therefore less likely to get in a car accident. Tada! And it will tow our Elio with regular sized rear hatch! Bam, Elio content, thread not derailed :p

Along your line of logic, I read that something like 25% of car accidents happen because someone is texting. That means that 75% of them don't. So by that logic, we should all text and drive!

I am working on this. 75% of texters did not have an accident? 75% of drivers were not texting? 75% of accidents did not have a texting driver? My difficult leap into logic is that if only 2% of gun owners shot themselves, I still wouldn't want to be in that statistical group. I would choose to be a non-shooting gun owner.:D
