I am going from Portland Oregon to Shreveport LA, which is about 1800 flying miles and about $500 air fare one way, and then to drive home from the Elio plant after the tour, is about 1240 miles to Chino Valley AZ, just to show off my new Autocycle to family, and then off for another 1342 miles to Portland Oregon... plus a short stop in Vegas...

About 40 hours of driving time and about $120 fuel, plus any winning/losing for that short stop in Vegas...

Maybe meet the Elio groups in Chino Valley and Vegas area, are their Future Elio owner's is Vegas???.... see ya then...

To NJ 1,375 one way
About 24 hrs of driving.
Cost of gas is minimal. (using a guess of 22 gallons and $3.75 per gallon, about $86)
Cost of room and board will be variable. ( 2 nights at ? $)

Cost to get there is showing from a low of $194 to an average of $360 from ABE in Pa to Shreveport
(with a stop in Atlanta and shuttle to Shreveport)
Then add cost of transportation and hotel stay, (one night? two nights?) Lowest price is $47 for the Holiday Inn. Sams Hotel and Casino (bet they have free transportation to Hotel) is $60 per. But come to think of that, it could get even more pricey! ;)

So I am looking at a low/high of $400 to $600 to get there by flying and about $250 to $400 to get back.

Cost versus shipping probably even at the low end not worth it. Cost versus the adventure, priceless!

One other consideration is that of driving my donor car down there. But at 15 mpg the cost would be more than the airfare unless I car pooled!

Looking at taking the Megabus as Washington DC is too far to drive. From Union Station in DC to Atlanta is $20 going by Megabus. Atlanta to New Orleans is another $20 by Megabus. Greyhound offers New Orleans to Shreveport for $60. Total travel time: about a day and a half but only about $100. I'll drive the car back though. Cheapest way I can find short of hitchhiking there

Thanks for info JP! I can hope the train to DC for about $25 so my way down could be a lot less than flying! And...........another adventure!
