as our grandkids get older we may well give them the Elio we buy with our current reservation and if we end up liking it as much as we hope we will, we may well replace it with a later year's model

For most of us, if they make the production date of mid 2016, it will, already be the second year.

if they succeed in bring their retail centers on line during the 2nd year of production, fleet sales will only be part of the production .... with 40/50/60 thousand first year models on the road, individual sales is bound take a huge jump

when smart first came to the US, I waited and then bought one off Ebay with 5 miles on it. No waiting and it caught on fire after 7 months. I now (still) have it's replacement, a 2009 model and it has served me well. 135,000 miles but it is time for something new... Elio fits my needs for a commuter car for mostly one person commute of 43 miles each way. 1st year, 2nd year, depends on when they get them built. still waiting...
