Smithy I agree, we would not have gone all in had we known there was no financing and the production was to be delayed again. We went in on the assumption, production would be this year (2015). Now just hoping production starts SOMEDAY!;)
I did my home work and knew it was a high risk. Took the $1000 out of my motorcycle funds . I've blown more than that on the bikes.
Each month that goes by without a major funding source is just nailing the coffin lid tighter.
The ELIO may get built someday but not likely it will be by the current owners. There is always a chance And I sure hope it does it is a great idea.

We were definitelty told there was funding available for the 2015 production start right up until the last delay announcement. Obviously, I'm not quite over that just yet. I don't believe the number of all ins at this late stage of the game. Still hoping production starts SOMEDAY too!

I don't believe one could find very many, if any, of us being happy about the sudden revelation about the funding issues .... I still believe that something major had to have changed .... as to what, I have no clue .... for me the bottom line is I don't have any of the inside info about it and even if I did, I can't do anything about it .... I still believe that they will bring it to production, so I'm willing to sit back, watch and enjoy the ride

in thinking about this line from the email :

"Upgrade today from $100 to $500 All In and you could move up in the line as much as 21,000 spots!"

if I read this correctly .... with something over 40,000 total reservations, if moving up from $100 to $500 All In can move someone up as much as 21,000 reservations would seem to indicate that something just under half of the current All In reservations are for $100 .... if around half, say 10,000 of them spend $400 to upgrade, that would pump $4,000,000 into the company .... to me that would be well worth their effort
The marketing technique that is being used here is about as straight forward as you can get...without telling the whole story....because it's explained on their website already! Upgrade " IF" the $400.00 can be lost without you having major meltdown...PERIOD ! .....I have chosen to hear about the hiring and training of the 1500 skilled assembly "WORKFORCE" ....When that is in the news AND IF the option of upgrading is still available...I'll increase my $250.00 All -In an additional $750.00 to take full advantage of the $500.00 bonus....until then they have got $250.00 of my cash...IF things go bellyup....and I sincerely hope not...I think I would enjoy driving the ELIO...whether it's the 40,000 one or 200,000 one off the production line. The workfore being paid while gearing up at the plant means to me they have to produce some ELIO'S to pay them their wages...just sayin'

Like about 14,000 others I am in for $1000. Kissed that good by some time back. No big deal but I sure as heck would not send them anymore.
The fist $1000 was a risk wish anymore would be foolish there is a difference.
I'm in for what I can afford to lose -- or could afford to lose when I made the call. Clearly this is a company starving for cash, any cash. If the gov't doesn't get the damn loan guarantee approved pronto, I fear Elio will never open the doors to assembly. So close, and yet so far ... as for giving them another dime, that would be irresponsible on my part. I just don't have the money to play with.
