NY Stater here - what does motorcycle endorsement mean?
It's like a special endorsement you have to have to be able to operate a motorcycle, legally.
Just as you need a Class C license to operate a certain size of truck.
And the list goes on, it's a license for operation of certain classes of vehicles, like Semi's, Motorcycles, Chauffer, and the list goes on.
It also includes Limo driver, cab driver, bus operator, have to have the endorsement to prove you know how to operate that type of vehicle.

That's interesting, Front wheel drive? How many trikes are FWD?
Most of the trikes in the world are RWD, so is this going to define what an Autocycle is?
That's a good thing, except for all of the ones that are already out in mass.
At least there is only one that meets the criteria.

Wonder what it's going to do on the insurance?

Well, let's look at it logically.
FWD Tadpole designs are really the most stable configurations and are really minimalised cars with car engines, car transmissions, and car handling.

RWD Tadpole designs usually use maximized motorcycles with motorcycle engines, with motorcycle transmissions and motorcycle handling.

Tricycle configurations (one up front and 2 in the rear) are generally unstable and will not be addressed.

The law puts Elio in an excellent position.
It's really one of the most thought out and best basic designs out there.
It remains to be seen if the details can be ironed out.

Helmets for 18 & under in only Maine. Motorcycle endorsement required in only Alaska, Maine & NY... Impressive legislative milestones. Slowly building separation between front running ELIO, Vanderhall & Sondors and the rest of the minor 3 wheelers!
I blew the image up and it looks like 17 and under in Maine to me.
And while EM may be trying to separate themselves, the Solo also currently qualifies in most of those states.
I'll wager the Sondors will qualify in all of them now that they're going to go with FWD as standard.
