Any thoughts on having a monitor instead of an instrument panel like the tesla? Could have a bunch of diff instr panel looks just not locked into one with the Elgin dash etc...???

I have a couple of prototypes I'm working on; but until I can get some good exact measurements of the Elgin dash, I'm on hold.

Got any pics (eye candy) you're willing to share with us on your prototypes?
Just the one in the avatar; the others are notes and sketches written and drawn in my shorthand (aka unreadable handwriting).
My notes are more like mental triggers to remind me of what I was thinking at the time.
The two other main items I'm waiting on are "who makes the Elgin Dash" and chances of getting NOS or copy of Metro dash cluster.
The later is also size dependent.

Get a cheap HUD.....
Pull out the old instrument panel.......
Mount a mirror facing toward you .......
Mount the HUD so that the mirror reflects the HUD.......
Cheap solution, but it might do the job?

Here is an older article about Sharp's "Free-Form" displays. They are LCD screens that can be made to fit all sorts of non-square shapes. Perhaps too pricey for the vanilla Elio to use, but could be a potential aftermarket item in the future?

That article is almost two years old which makes me think their progress hit a speed bump. Had it worked out like they said we'd have seen more on this by now.
