That article is almost two years old which makes me think their progress hit a speed bump. Had it worked out like they said we'd have seen more on this by now.

It could have just been prohibitively expensive at the time, but I know Nintendo is licensing the technology for their future video game console. Game consoles are expensive, but consumer electronics always come down in price over time.
