from watching several replays of Newman's wreck, its amazing that he survived .... NASCAR's cup level cars are truly well designed and built

After the problems they had, they had to do something, we were losing too many great drivers.
Newman is one of my favorites and I was excited he had a shot at a win .Keep in mind I only watched the last 10 laps that took an hour .A buddy of mine and I would hit one or two races per year and I live only an hour and a half from Daytona and Homestead .Nascar ruined it for hard core fans .

Heard on NASCAR radio that Ryan is awake and talking with his family and doctors, so thankfully he is improving. Couldn't have been better news.
just saw a picture of Ryan dressed in a hospital gown, standing behind his daughters with a big smile on his face .... he looked good 
the attached picture is the one I mentioned above .... even better news is he has been released from the hospital

I saw on the news, that picture of him being released from the hospital.
Notice he's not wearing any type of shoes? Wonder why.
I kind of doubt he'll be racing this weekend, I wonder who will get his car?
