Hmm, Martin L was an Augustinian and they wore black robes rather than brown. Capuchin monks wore the brown. Oh well, try again next year and if anyone says you're wearing the same costume you can rightly say you aren't, this time the robes are black. Actually, you could cycle through all the various orders and colors of robes of the 16th century (not too many I think) unless your wife is dressed as Katharina Luther, then all you could really do is the color correction next year! Did you know the melody of "A Mighty Fortress" was from a popular drinking song? Clever man, Martin, choose a melody everyone knows and new words that reflect the living situations and times of the common man!

Should've had your wife dress like Robin Hood! Then you'd have an excuse to walk around all night with a big mug of beer (or mead...pick your poison), and told everyone it's just part of the costume.
Oh, don't you worry! Martin was certainly not a tea totaller!! Nor was anyone else at that point in history. Yup, Martin and Katharina would have been quite at home with a stein in hand and a joint of mutton on the table. Nomnom.
