There are a few affordable cars on the market (well below the $50K average) and likely cheaper and safer than any new startup 3 wheeler concept that makes it to market. My interest in the 3 wheeler Elio was based on the impossible to achieve marketing hype.…….under $6800, high MPG, 5 Star Safety. It would have been a practical “&” Vehicle…..a supplement to the family car. As a skeptic, I always assumed a roll out $20K providing it ever made it to market.

Seems like we need the Elio now more than ever. $7450 would really help today. I was wondering if Arcimoto and since they are well on their way to get back into production because it seems the FUV group thinks so, they might want to consider that Arcimoto has decided to stop paying payroll and property taxes. I wonder what the thought is for them deciding to do that, not telling anyone until a reporter uncovered it. Is this a good thing? Maybe because others cheat the government, Arcimoto needs to do it too to just get back to production and give us the $11,900 FUV that has been certified for use on the public roads. What do you think?

What do I think? I think I don't give a damn if they make Arcimotos or not. I would never buy one. Can you imagine me trying to talk my wife into using a car that doesn't even have doors, let alone A/C or heat? The Arcimoto is just another toy as far as I'm concerned.

I agree. I also require doors, roof, heating. Comfort. If really wanted efficiency without those things, I would buy an electric bicycle.

Well said! The thing about the Elio was it would be a practical, every day car. All these other "what's its" that keep poping up are weird toys not suited to be a daily driver.

Aptera is the last hope. Has 1000 mile range, 2X the cargo over a Camry, gets 40 free miles per day from sunlight and starts at $28K. With it made of carbon fiber, it lasts forever. Plus they do right to repair. So, scan a QR code and they send you everything you need. I just wish it was the price of the Elio but I guess they are a bit greedy. It comes out this year and that's the best option that I know of at the moment.

I heard the price will come down because when they get to production and they get on the street, the sales will skyrocket. Thus volume goes up and prices go down. Elio was not going to lower prices and offered a price people here could afford. It was that the volume (250K/yr) was going to lower the cost and the profit was to go way up. Thus why it was a smart buy for stock. Arcimoto was going to lower their price to $11,900 because once they got on the street, demand would skyrocket, volume goes up and price goes down. Thus a smart stock buy.

So, Aptera is going with the same tried and proven thing. Get your three wheeler out on the road and demand will skyrocket. It has worked in many cases but I forgot which ones. Maybe someone can list them.

I ask you this, how well did the demand go through the roof for the other two three wheelers that people can buy right now and even test drive for free? Vanderhall and Polaris are still making product. Arcimoto is out of business, Elio is done too. Now all we can hope for is Aptera. I wonder that since they have the same business plan as Elio, this time their success will allow Paul to gather around $500K and get this thing delivered. He never went through the bankruptcy process, admitted that Elio Motors was a failure, moved onto two other businesses but the glimmer of hope is still there.
