I know Elio has no plans to file any patents, but they should at least consider filing a patent for the Elio's unique ornamental design. This would help avoid "cheaper" knockoffs from competitors if/when the Elio takes off.

Seems like the Elio's aerodynamic, tandem enclosed-tadpole design could qualify for an ornamental design patent.
