Estate planning with a Trust is common. Most responsible people do it. You know we just had all the talk about PE birthday.
Events like that often are trigger points for getting estate plans up to date. Reading way to much into this. Now if he was forming a couple corruptions and moving assets. We might have something to talk about. The trust thing has been well explained.
The trust is not away to protect PE from creditors it does not work that way.

I hate seeing parents use their kids as weapons to get back at the ex spouse.

Revocable living trusts are not just for rich people. Problem is that people don't change their beneficiaries to fund the trust. Anyone with a trust should review their paperwork whenever they move, have a life event like a new kid, change employment, or any other significant change in finances. I don't read into this trust too much, and if anything, see it as a positive sign for PE, and hopefully, us.
