I have been a life long Star Trek fan so I was saddened to hear the news this afternoon that Leonard Nimoy, known to many for his role as Spock on Star Trek, had passed away.

I was reading his bio earlier today, I didn't realize that he directed "Three Men and A Baby" from 1987.

I really enjoyed him as Spock. He also hosted a TV Series "In Search Of", from '77-'82. He did many many other movies, directing, poetry, voice-over. He was really good in the reboot of Star Trek the movie in 2009.

I'm always mystified at the huge disconect between perception and reality of actors as per their public and their private lives. My Son is one of the 30 photographers on the Red carpet for the Golden Globes. He's always telling he gets a special insight because he gets to see them when they're are no cameras blazing. I'm willing to bet Leonard Nimoy was the real deals but I remain skeptical of what the media never lets us see.
Most admired is that it doesn't go to their heads as some do. I hope we can all keep our sense of perspective and most of all our sense of humor.
