Smitty's right, but assuming it ever goes into production, the cost is really the make/break.
People buy cars that get horrible mileage all the time because they can't afford anything better.
Almost nobody in that position has the luxury of caring where the components are made.

I am in this boat. I have driven Toyota Suzuki GM and Chrysler products. for the most part all have been dependable given their respective age and my driving habits at 40,000 plus miles a year.

I'm good at $7,600. I'd be good at $10K. As it stands, I'm going to get the $500 discount (as we all are), so $7,600 would revert to $7,100, minus my $1,000 -- so that leaves $6,1000 still to find. No sweat. Add taxes, delivery (though I'll have to pick mine up, since I live in Ohio where EM cannot sell cars), that's an extra $1,000. So now I'm at $7,100. Add my rear view camera, maybe a couple of extra goodies, and we're up another $1,000 to $1,500 for a worst-case price of $8,600. I could sure live with that!

However, I think the car will sell to reservation holders for $6,800, so realistically, I'll need to find less than $7,800 -- a steal!

I have $10K tucked away for mine; I plan a lot of extras from the get go.
I don't plan on spending all of it, but it's there if I need it.
I know the first stop once I get it is to the tint shop.
I've had a dermatologist tell me that I'm UVA/UVB allergic, the window tinting is a must in all my cars.
On the windshield we do a clear tint that is a UV blocker.

I really don't care about any of the three listed.

1) could be less I want it fun to drive
2) $800 inc not a big deal when you consider the price of the next best vehicle
3) not a deal breaker but it is nice to keep work at home

Cool, thanks.

So that's roughly $8473.00 for an Auto (with taxes/fees). Then from there, you add add-ons. So this thing could hit $10k fairly easily once it's all sup'd up.

My goal is to hopefully stay below that, though I'm not sure how far below. Perhaps I'll shoot for $1000 or less in add-ons.
But how many of us are going to end up like the kid in the candy store?
I know I will be simply because of the low base price I can add a bunch of goodies, it's not hard to do.
