I noticed neither of the site maps for retail space or service included Shreveport. I would like to see if there are others who would also like to have the option to go directly to the factory. If so, we could go to Elio Motors with something more than just individual wish lists.

I'll start out. Just add your name if you'd like this option.

Better have people PM you and you can create the list to EM.
But you might want to contact them first and ask if there are already plans for something like that.
We've been told before by EM that the map is just a approximation of where the stores might be; not an exact detailed map.
Just like everything else with EM; "All items are subject to change (except for the Elgin Dash)".

I got a response from Elio that they were planning to allow new owners in some cases to pick up their Elio from the factory. Hopefully including a tour of the assembly line and watching your new ride as it progresses through the tail end of the process. Nothing concrete yet but they are thinking about it at least.

I'm only a six hour drive from Shreveport so it's definitely an option I'll keep open. And I got a friend that has his own plane that could get us to Shreveport in two hours. Hoping to get a picture of my three wheeled tail dragger next to his three wheel taildragger. Course his is 200+ MPH so not really a fair comparison. :)

I am a definite maybe, depending on the perks. Shreveport is a 6 hour drive and I am sure there will be closer marshaling centers (Austin, Dallas, or Houston for sure). And getting there would require getting a rental. But if there is something to sweeten the deal, I would make the drive.

I am definitely going the pick mine up at the factory. 5 1/2 hr. drive home. Planning on taking Greyhound down there unless S.W. has a cheap fare then.

Picking up at the factory has been an option all along and so has the fact that they are going to have a distribution point there as well... one of the post-manufacturing marshalling centers, that is. There is no need to get names for that. I'm going to pick mine up at the factory. I'd really like to watch it at least finish its trip down the line. I don't need to sit around and watch paint dry, you know.

I'd like to know how long it will take from the start of the assembly line to the end to get a road ready car. A few hours? A whole day or two? That might change my plan. If it were a few hours I'd head up to the plant so I could watch my car being built from start to finish. That would be worth taking a few days off work to me.

What kind of RV does he have? -4, -6, -7, -8, or -9?
