we haven't run that road ... the coastal highway we traveled in Oregon was number 101 .... unlike the east coast, that section of the west coast is pretty much undeveloped .... the views overlooking the ocean on the entire 100 +/- mile drive on 101 are remarkable
Wife is from Portland and her brother lives in Astoria so I get to travel that route almost every year. Highway 101 splits into California 1 at Ft Bragg and follows the coast all the way to San Diego. Great road for a bike or the Elio

The pic begs the question- what's your mpg on the road w/ all that.?
thanks

the truck has a Mercedes MB900 motor that was built prior to the pollution Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) requirements mated to an Allison T3000 six speed automatic transmission .... 330 hp 1100 ft lbs of torque .... she gets 8.5 - 11 mpg running solo/hauling our camper/hauling our camper + the GEM car trailer/ sitting still/falling off a cliff/whatever ;) .... while traveling we base our budget based on 10 mpg and that has proven to work well for us

Considering the load- that's great, Elio w/84, so your average mpg for all your vehicles is 47mpg!!!

the truck will pull the load at most any speed we choose but we run 1700 rpm/61-62 mph on the interstate .... that's far enough into her power band to where the only time she downshifts out of 6th gear is when she hits a HILL .... not a hill, a HILL .... when it comes to mileage, speed is her enemy .... bump her up to 70 mph and she'll go right on down the road with no drama but her mileage will drop to 7 +/- mpg
