This tandem seater below(link) is not a 3 wheeler. But it does appear to be Elio inspired. It will attempt, if ever built, to be inexpensive and high mileage. I suspect these attributes were admired in the Elio by these people, but as a three wheeler? Not so much.
Still, if it is built it will encourage Elio and Bex clones, since a 3 wheel version would more easily be low cost and higher efficiency.
The door entry on this one is convienent, but very expensive and heavy compared to an Elio or Bex door system.
Can you imagine how much dirt and mud will end up on the rear wheel cover (nacel)?
But keep in mind, there are even fewer examples of tandem 4 wheelers than there are 3 wheel ones.
