What is the max size on photos?

I think it is 3mb but I need to dive in and optimize it in the next couple of days. It should be auto-resizing bigger photos but I don't think it is.

What was the reasoning for your question? Are the pictures in posts too large or would you like to be able to upload larger files?

I tried to upload a few, thinking it would auto size them but it told me they were too big and wouldn't upload.

Try it now, I think I have it all good to go.

You should be able to upload much bigger pictures now and the system will resize them so they aren't so huge inside posts.
