My reservation number is lower than Past Fanatic's, Hightech's, and others, and you don't see me whining and gnashing my teeth.

I read the reservation agreement before I committed. I knew the promised timeline was sheer fantasy and said so many times. I know that 90%+ of all startups fail. I know that in the last 100 years only one new car company has gone into regular production. Anybody who didn't realize all of these things before they put their money down didn't do their homework and has nobody to blame but themselves.

The whiners should choose either to get a grip or write-off their reservation and move on. They'll be much happier.

comment understood and I agree .... I don't know any of us who have been pleased at any of the delays .... its good to see that only a few seem to feel that throwing a tantrum is appropriate

to me its easy to understand their frustration .... knowing full well that this is an independent forum with no active members who work for EM, what's not so easy to understand is why they feel obliged to vent their frustrations here by raising both legitimate as well as deliberately contrived grievances here .... to accomplish anything they need to get EM's attention which can be done through EM's website, Facebook or a few other avenues .... one classic response to that question is for them to report to have have behaved in such a manner that they have been banned from EM's sites .... so for some reason they bring that same type behavior here .... I have no problem with anyone raising legitimate questions but do have a problem with those who do so in a manner that will take away from folks who come here for positive reasons

I too have a personal problem with contrived grievences or trolling just to stir up members for sport, but raising legitimate issues that remind us of EM's marketing history or actual statements made is ok for me personally. I prefer positive outlook and conversation as well. What I really prefer is a positive OUTCOME in 2016.

Actually we know that EM had funding agreements lined up, via a previous private placement, however these funding deals collapsed when EM failed to secure the plant in a timely manner as it took about nine months longer than originally expected for IRG to secure the plant lease. That nine month delay in securing the plant was also the direct cause of all the delays previous to the one last month as EM was not able to give a new production estimate until after they secured the plant in May 2014.

The indirect effects of the plant delay and losing the funding deals is still being felt by EM and had a hand in delay announced last month. To get to the point where the new private placement could be sold there are a number of hoops that must be jumped through, including seed money, setting up the placement and a 90-day due diligence waiting period, This all resulted in the fact that the new private placement could not be sold until January.

Goofyone. Have you heard anything about progress on funding? There was a post recently saying progress was happening but I have not heard anymore.

I recall hearing that IAV had been the ones writing the Tech Talk for a while; noticing that the recent Tech Talks have been nothing but fluff I am assuming IAV is no longer writing them (???).

So, just for fun I went ahead and contacted each of the suppliers (which seems to have shrunk). I simply asked how the Elio project has been going, here are a snip-it of their replies (I will update as more come in):

The EM scuttlebutt pretty much matches up with that post; there has been progress made on funding however no specifics available. Personally I am hoping that positive funding news in being worked into the rescheduled engine unveiling event.

just curious, has it occurred to you that EM just might have some pretty good attorneys and engineers working on the ATVM loan application ...

Sure hope they are DIFFERENT than the ones that FAILED to get the $260 million ATVM loan.... back in 2010.

The key is "without the receipt of additional"........... I would say the ATVM loan is not counted in the "Federal funding " as you seem to think.

"Projects must be “financially viable without the receipt of additional Federal funding associated with the proposed project”

For purposes of making a determination under paragraph (a)(2) of this section, additional Federal funding includes any loan, grant, guarantee, insurance, payment, rebate, subsidy, credit, tax benefit, or any other form of direct or indirect assistance from the Federal government, or any agency or instrumentality thereof, other than the proceeds of a loan approved under this Part, that is, or is expected to be made available with respect to, the project for which the loan is sought under this Part.
So you appear to be wrong on that part.

The next key word is "designed"

Perhaps, but Elio Motors has to show they have sufficient 'additional' funding (over and above the ATVM loan), and Paul Elio, himself said last Aug that the "E" Series build was put on HOLD, due to "FUNDING". They couldn't even build the FIRST of "18 to 26" vehicles that they have said are "needed to finalize the design".
Yes, it is "designed" to carry at least two adult passengers; but the 'operable phrase' is "that achieves" at least 75 miles per gallon, not "designed to achieve"..... very different.

.... Also, the ATVM does accept computer simulations and those results as proof of concept!....

There is nowhere in the FaceBook "Terms and Conditions" that you have to maintain a 'Positive Outlook', I did not violate ANY of their guidelines, I only asked QUESTIONS that Elio Motors 'could not' or 'did not want to answer'..... they just IGNORED them, or [Deleted] them. When I was persistent, and re-asked the questions (noting that they had failed to answer them the first time).... they AGAIN [Deleted] them and BLOCKED me, without notification, or citing any 'violation' or reason. NOT the 'transparency' you would expect from a company that claims it is one on their "core values". When I contacted "tellmemore" to get a reason (since I was 'Blocked' from messaging Elio Motors on FaceBook), their response was; "We don't know the particulars [Problem Solved]. When I responded, that I did not consider it 'Solved', and would they check into it...... NO FURTHER reply from them. Those are the kinds of people representing Elio Motors.... and after many years of support..... I no longer respect or believe them!
