Will I be paying the rate of my home state(NH), retail center(probably MA) or Louisiana?

You can register using your Google, Facebook, or Twitter account, just click here.Since you can't tax sales from another state, States usually call it something else and then offer an offset for sales tax paid to their own state. The effect is the same, but the technicality is required. Perhaps a vehicle tax or registration tax for previously unregistered vehicles?Vehicle tax is normally payed to the county tax assessors office. When the vehicle is titled and registered the county will collect sales tax. If EM collects the tax they will collect at your counties rate and forward it to them.
I've never heard of a federal sales tax. As far as I know, that is the one tax that is purely state and local.Taxes would include Federal and state tax would it not?
If purchased out of state, some states may allow a refund of the State Tax but all must Pay the Federal Tax portion, I believe.
I think you misunderstood the County Tax which is a local tax except in Louisiana where it is called a Parish Tax. There is no Federal (Country) sales tax that I'm aware of.What I meant by Federal Tax is the portion refered to as Country Tax that some states are required to collect. Some states also collect City or munipal taxes.
I'm sure you're correct for most jurisdictions, but I was once charged a city income tax (Big Rapids) on work I was doing while living outside the City (Mecosta County), working outside the City (worked in Reed City) for a company based out of state (Washington State) because the accountant cut my check in the City.Okay ... I am a PA resident. If I swing down to MD and buy a car the dealer won't charge me any MD related taxes or fees. He will simply do the paperwork for the PA taxes and registration and get me temporary plates.
You won't get double taxed. And most of you should be thankful because LA sales tax is like 9% or some crazy and I am willing the bet they use the percentage of vehicle value to determine registration fees.
